Summer POV
Derek took Lettie into his arms.
“This is my fault. I-I don’t know what happened. I couldn’t shift.”
Derek eyed me with a raised brow.
“Long story… but thank you.”
“Don’t thank me. Lucky for us Rocco wanted to stop by a bakery.”
“And you made fun of me,” Rocco puffed.
I clutched my head as an intense ringing went off.
“Summer are you okay?” Derek asked.
My vision blurred and all I heard was the ringing sound. Couldn’t they hear the sound? Derek split in two and the ground wobbled.
“Mate…” a ghost-like voice said. “Where are you?”
I shook my head. I wanted the ringing to stop before it blew my head open.
“Please stop,” I whispered almost helplessly.
A cold hand landed on my back. I looked up to see Rocco staring at me with concern in his eyes. The ringing went as quickly as it had come. Well, that was unexpected and painful.
“Did you guys not hear that?” I asked.
