Monday came by so fast and despite the fact that I just had my engagement party three nights ago, I was back to work.
My part-time assistant, Ava, pushed open the door for me and I walked in while she kept her pace behind me. Ava had been my assistant since I took over the company right after finishing college, even if she only ever assisted me during specific work hours. I didn’t like a full-time assistant as I didn’t want someone following me around all day and everywhere.
However, Ava was leaving soon. She had gotten married last year and she was pregnant. It wasn’t showing yet but she was going to take a break anyway. I needed to find a new assistant before she left and I wasn’t looking forward to it.
