***Xavier's POV***
It happened right in front of me again. But this time, it took a different style. My mate took the knife for me and was stabbed in the chest with a silver dagger.
In a rage, I went berserk and shifted into my wolf form. I devoured the leader, dismembering him into a thousand pieces. All of his soldiers ran out of the room.
I should have gone after them, but I cannot. I can't let her die because of me.
I quickly turned around and rushed over to her side.
“Melissa, what have you done!”
She winced in pain while staring at me.
“Why are you worried about me?”
“What the fuck are you talking about? You're injured, and could die at any moment.”
