ADAM'S POV
After the call with Finn and everything that happened, I turned my attention to Aria. She gripped the side of her hospital bed tightly, her knuckles turning white, her face drained of all colour. Her eyes, lost, kept drifting towards the door, as if Dante might walk through it any second, somehow alive and well.
I reached out, gently guiding her back on the bed, helping her settle until her head was resting comfortably on the pillow.
"Aria," I whispered, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. "Once Finn has taken care of things on his end, I promise I’ll take you to see Dante."
She let out a shaky breath, her hand curling around mine in a desperate grip. "Do you… do you think he’ll be okay, Adam?"
I held her hand tighter, trying to find words that wouldn’t break her. "I am… we are doing everything we can. Finn is trying to make sure you’ll be able to see him soon. I know it’s hard, but for now, you need to rest."
