**Weeks Later**
It's been almost 2 weeks since the incident and Sienna's wounds healed faster than anyone expected— the doctor said she had an excellent regeneration ability.
She'd already been assigned her place of duty in Kieran's palace. She made sure to move carefully, played her part, and kept her head— she couldn't afford anyone having suspicions about her.
She'd studied the palace during her working hours— it was grand and filled with warriors who were loyal to the man she planned to kill, so she couldn't afford any mistakes; she had just one chance.
One silly mistake could cause her life, and blending in wasn't easy either— she'd always been the bossy one, but now she's pretending to be a refugee.
Sienna was enjoying the afternoon view in the garden while secretly taking note of every little detail when she was called to be present at the maid's quarters. The moment she stepped in, she felt all eyes on her— whispers followed
“Look at her,” one maid scoffed, her voice laced with bitterness.
“A dirty rogue trying to act like she belongs here” another added
“She probably begged the Alpha on her knees to be allowed to stay”
Sienna came to a slow stop. A sly smirk crawled on her lips as she turned, her cold eyes locked with the girl who'd just spoken.
“Beg you say?” Her voice was silk, laced with quiet amusement
“Baby girl, I don't beg— I take”
The room went dead silent, the maid's smirk dropped but Sienna wasn't done yet. She took a slow intimidating step closer, her voice lowering— enough to make the girl tremble.
“If I wanted something from a man, trust me, he'd be the one begging”
The girl's face turned pale while others gasped— they exchanged glances among themselves.
“But I get it— it must be frustrating watching someone as dirty as me walk in and immediately be placed above you. It must've stung your pride, right?”
Sienna let out a tormenting soft chuckle slowly shaking her head sideways.
The girl was fuming but she had no comeback— no one did.
Sienna just turned and walked away like she was the queen in there— which, in her eyes, she was.
She wasn't there to impress anyone nor was she there to make friends— she was there to kill the King.
—————
That night, Sienna was walking through the palace hallways for regular inspections before she went to bed but she heard voices— low but firm.
Curiosity made her move closer, she stopped right outside the slightly open door and peeped through.
Inside the room was Kieran and his beta, they discussed in hushed tones.
“Kieran we still haven't found them”
“They're getting bolder each day”
Sienna's pulse accelerated— who were they talking about?
“They think they can challenge me?” Kieran exhaled, his voice sent cold shivers down her spine— it was intimidating.
She swallowed hard, she needed to gather more information.
She tried to step closer but as he took a step, her foot hit something— the sound echoed through the hall.
She froze, knowing she'd been caught because the conversation inside suddenly stopped.
“Who's there?”
Her heart threatened to rip out of her chest.
She turned to run, but it was too late— the door swung open, and Kieran stepped out.
His golden eyes locked on her figure— his expression darkened as he realized she'd been eavesdropping.
Sienna's stomach twisted— had she just ruined her plans before even putting them into action?
“I–I was inspecting the area”
Before she could finish, he was already in front of her— his eyes throwing daggers at her.
“You think I don't see through you?” His deep voice was sharp, edged with suspicion. He studied her like a prey— very calculating.
“I don't know what you mean, my Lord” She bowed her head feigning innocence
He scoffed
“Another lie”
A slow yet confident smile formed on her lips— “it's just you suspecting too much”
A weird silence played between them. Kieran studied her— he searched for cracks in her pretense, but Sienna had spent years perfecting her mask. Finding something on her was like looking for a pin amid a crowd.
“Get out.” He exhaled
Finally— she gave an elegant bow and turned to leave. As she did, her eyes caught the beta standing near the doorway— he watched her. His eyes traveled down her figure, and caught a glimpse of something flickering across his eyes— slow, heated, was that what she thought it was?
He was lusting!
She smirked, things just got a lot easier.
Sienna went back to the maid's quarter; the others were already asleep, so she just quietly climbed up her bed. As she lay down staring at the ceiling, an idea sprang up.
Kieran was a disciplined man; he wasn't easy to sway, but she knew every man had a weakness.
Seduction had always been her greatest weapon— one that never failed her.
In the order, she was known as the “Seductress In Red”— the name came about when she successfully seduced Richie and stole the key to his wine room one time and now, she was going to use it.
She would make Kieran want her, and usually, when men want something, they become Vulgar and vulnerable— that is when she'll strike.
She rose from her bed and slipped into something light and delicate. The thin cloth clung over her curves just enough to be tempting but left room for imagination to make him crave more.
With a final glance in the mirror, she smiled.
She and Kieran might have started the night on the wrong foot, but it's time to correct that.
Time to play.
