Marcie's POV

I was about to return to my desk and resume work as Mrs. Jade had sent me on an errand earlier.

As I touched my neck region, I noticed that I had bruises, and it hurt me a little bit.

I rushed back to the bathroom and took a proper look at the mirror. I was injured a little bit.

How could someone act as crazy as the man who pinned me to the wall? I can guess that it was his first time seeing me.

Aside from his looks and charming structure, he owes me an apology for harassing me and speaking rudely to me.

No matter what happens, I must remain coordinated, as it is my first day at work. I need to get my scarf to cover up the bruise on my neck.

I would make him pay for his actions and behavior, but first of all have to secure my job.

I started going back to my desk so that I could resume duties as other staff were already settled and working.

"Hi, Marcie," the voice of Mrs. Jade called from behind.

I stopped for a while and then turned back to respond to her.

"Hope you've handed the documents over to the CEO," she asked me to confirm if I did the job cool.

Well, I cannot go ahead and explain to her the encounter I had with those cute assholes. All I had to do was nod my head in response.

She stared at me for a while, but I had already covered up the injury on my neck, pretending as though it was itching me.

"Well, I just wanted to know if you gave him the file. I would have gone by myself, but I was too busy. Those documents are very confidential," she added.

Why would she give me such an important thing to handle on my first day of work? Well, maybe she had her reason for sending me there.

"You have nothing to worry about, ma. I delivered it to him personally," I lied to her with a smile on my face to win her trust and avoid further questions.

"That's okay. You can now go to the main deal. Any aspect you have difficulties with, do not hesitate to let me know," she concluded with me and then went her own way.

That handsome demon should better deliver the documents to the CEO, or else it would not be funny at all.

I had to go back to make sure the documents had gotten to the right source.

Now, another stress is added to me. I went immediately to the spot where I encountered him.

Luckily for him, he was not there; neither were the papers there.

I thought he would be that mannerless to leave the company's file out on the ground. His job should be very important to him as well as mine.

Since I did not see him, I decided to go to the CEO himself to confirm if the file was delivered to him.

I saw a guy sitting in the office that led to that of the CEO.

"Excuse me, sir, please. I am here to see the CEO. I need to deliver something urgent to him," I asked the young man politely.

He kindly pointed to the door that led to the office. He was probably the assistant or the secretary of the CEO.

As I came into the room, I was a bit tense, but when I saw the guy who pinned me to the wall, my mood changed.

What the hell is he doing in the CEO's office? Maybe that was not the main office.

He was on a call, but as he sighted me, he hung up the call and focused on me as I came closer.

"What are you doing here?" he asked with a grumpy voice.

I did not want to exchange words with him, so I let him know that I did not come there to look for him. I came to see the CEO himself.

He looked at me and chuckled, "Well, you are talking to the CEO himself.".

What was he talking about, and secondly, how would a CEO act the way he did?

As I was about to respond to him the way he deserved, the staff I met outside opened the door and came in.

"Sir, I wanted to know if everything was okay," he said, as he might have heard our voices from outside.

I did not let the man respond to the staff at all. I quickly asked to confirm if the handsome demon was really the CEO.

"Yes, miss. That is the CEO of this company," he responded to me as he pointed towards his direction.

I did not know how to react at all because I was equally rude to him as well. I turned and looked at him as he smiled and dismissed his staff.

"So, what were we talking about?" he asked me mockingly.

I apologized to him for being rude and also demanded my apology to avoid feeding his ego.

He wanted to argue with me at first, but when I reminded him of what he did earlier, he calmed down a little bit.

"What do you want as compensation? Should I give you money?" he asked with a lot of pride in his words.

How could he think of me so lowly? I demanded that he apologize like a gentleman and keep his money to himself.

From the look of things, he was the type of guy that thinks he could bribe his way out of everything.

I do not need his money; I only need an apology, and I would get it one way or another.

"In your dreams, young lady," he mocked me, and I angrily stomped away.

As I sat down angrily in my seat, a colleague came to greet me properly and noticed my bruised neck.

"You have an injury on your neck," she said to me. I had to pretend as though it was an old scar asking her if it was that noticeable.

She made me know how clear it was and advised me to come out of any sort of toxic relationship I was in.

I was not in any relationship, but to avoid further questions, I kept quiet and listened to her; besides, she was making a point.

After the lecture, she asked me to follow her to the bathroom so that she could cover up the injury.

As we got there, she used her concealer to perfect the job. No one would notice that I had any injury at all.

I thanked her for rendering help to me as she continued to hint at the effects of toxic relationships.

How I wish she knew that we all had a toxic CEO. After the help, I asked her to go, pretending that I needed to use the restroom.

I looked at myself in the mirror for a while and remembered the way the CEO spoke to me.

No matter what happened, he was going to apologize to me one way or the other.
