Dominic’s POV
I stayed in my study. It was quiet and had dim lightning. I was filled with anger and paced around until I heard a beep sound. It came from my computer.
I got to the table, and checked my computers then my phone on the table rang. The screen lit up.
I picked it up, and answered without looking at the number.
“That was fast,” Matteo’s voice said sharply.
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you?” I raged.
“I figured you’d be pissed,” he answered casually, but I could already hear the tension under his cool.
“You let her come back,” I snapped. “You were supposed to protect her. And that includes not letting her return to Italy.”
“She’s not exactly the easiest person to guard. You know that. I had to compromise.”
“By compromise. You mean you let her out herself in harm's way. You know that's and you let it happen. Do you have any idea what she did?”
He sighed. “Yeah, I know. But she’s tougher than you give her credit for. She can handle herself.”
