We headed up to the living room in the Alpha’s living space. I led the way as we went in. I couldn’t wait to see everyone.
When I opened the door, I saw my sister straightening up Dennis’ collar. She looked like a fawning girl totally enamored with her mate. It was like night and day seeing how she treated him as opposed to how she treated Serena.
Indie had always had a strong, dominant personality and it bled into her relationship with Serena. When she was with Dennis before, she’d held that strong front up. Now that they were mated, she took on a more submissive role in the relationship.
Serena was holding onto Rao until she saw me. She let him go and bounded over, wrapping me in a tight hug. I hugged her back, having missed my best friend so much over the last year.
“Maddie! I’m so happy to see you up and around!” She squealed.
“I’m thrilled to be up and around.” I giggled.
