Author’s POV
The room was silent except for Ava’s sobs. She lay weakly on the bloodstained sheets, reaching out with trembling hands to take her son.
“Please, give me my baby,” she begged, tears streaming down her face.
Amelia stood by the window, holding the child tightly. The baby cried filling the room, his small body squirming in her arms.
Amelia’s heart pounded loudly in her chest as she scanned the room, she was looking for a way to escape with the boy.
She looked out the window, it wasn't that far from the ground, maybe a small magic trick could help them down safely but Amelia couldn't take the risks of something happening to the child in the process.
Elizabeth's lips curled into a satisfied smile, her eyes on the boy in Amelia's arm, before turning her cold eyes to Ava. “He will be raised by the right person now,” she said, her voice filled with satisfaction.
“No! No, please!” Ava cried, trying to sit up, but she was too weak.
