Ava’s POV
I stormed out of the room, my fists clenched in anger. I have heard enough of this, if my mother wanted to get revenge then it is best she does it by herself.
“Ava! Wait!” she called. Her hurried footsteps grew louder, but I didn’t slow down.
Why was it always this way with her? Why couldn’t she ever trust me to make my own decisions? I’d barely made it halfway down the corridor when her hand grabbed my arm, stopping me in my tracks.
“Ava,” she said, her tone pleading. “Please, listen to me.”
I spun around, jerking her hand off as I glared up at her. “Listen to you? That’s all I ever do, Mother! And where has it gotten me?” My voice trembled with anger.
“Ava, listen to me, have I ever done anything to put you in danger?” She asked.
