Ava’s POV
Elizabeth held onto me tightly as we hurried up the stairs. My stomach felt like it was on fire, the sharp pain making it hard to breathe.
“You’re going to be okay, Ava. Just keep breathing,” Elizabeth said, though I could see the fear in her eyes.
“I don’t know what’s happening,” I whispered, my voice shaky. I felt weak and my legs hurt with each step but Elizabeth held me tightly, guiding me into my room and laid me down on the bed.
“Will I lose my baby?* I cried watching the blood flow freely down my legs. “Please I don't want to lose my baby.”
“You’ll be fine,” she said again, but it sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than me.
She quickly got to work, inspecting me, her lips pressed into a thin line.
The door burst open with a loud bang. Arthur stormed in, his golden eyes glowing with anger. “What happened?” he demanded, his deep voice making it sound more scary. His gaze moved between me and Elizabeth, narrowing dangerously on her.
