“Brother.” I say, as I walk into the sitting room. Aeron is lounging in his usual space. Brooding.
He looks up. “What?”
“We have some things to discuss. About the treaty.”
Aeron grunts. He knows this conversation’s been coming. That we have to make some concessions too. The Crimson Shadow Pack are making ridiculous demands but if we show willing then it’s more likely the Supernatural Council will force their hand.
“We should have a prisoner exchange.” He says, as I sit down.
“Really?” Of all the things I expected to come out of his mouth, this was certainly not one of them. We’ve got half a dozen of their Wolves incarcerated and as far as I understood we had no intentions of giving them back.
“Why not? I’m sick of looking after their mongrels and I’m sure you are too. Why not swap them back? They’re all worthless anyway. And they have Carlton and Tonkins. We need our Wolves back. And this is a good way to ensure we get them.”
