After Steve left the house, Gabby stayed in the living room for a while, staring at the door he had just walked out of. She wasn’t sure why, but she felt a little uneasy from the way Steve talked to her before leaving.
Was she in danger? If not, why did he tell her not to go outside without him? She felt a little nervous and she could tell that Steve was hiding something from her. Was he just trying to protect her or didn't want her to know about what was going on?
She sighed and tried to shake off the feeling. “Maybe I’m just overthinking,” she whispered to herself.
To distract herself, she went to the kitchen to clean the dishes. Steve had instructed the servants to be coming in in the afternoon and since she didn't have much to do, she decided to help with cleaning the dishes.
