I sat on the edge of my bed, my mind consumed with conflicting emotions. Aiden, the one I had always loved, had chosen Ella as his mate. It was a blow to my heart, a wound that refused to heal. But I couldn't let Ella see the pain I carried. Instead, I put on a facade, pretending to be her best friend, supporting her and smiling through the torment inside.
