All month I woke to a pit in my stomach. I had no solutions to the mountain of problems I had laid at my feet. All I wanted was to run my pack like an Alpha should. It was my responsibility to protect them, provide for them, and keep them thriving.
So far I killed twelve of them, plus my father, our former Alpha. I somehow impregnated a human who was stripped of some strong magic and would surely give birth to a child Demetrius will kill.
I also took in an eight year old child that had the power to steal other's magic. A child Demetrius already tried killing once and would kill me if I let her create any problems for our kind.
Everyday my head hurt, trying to spin one solution after the other to correct my mistakes. The problem was, I didn't see them as mistakes. Jax truly believed Riley was meant to be with us. I wanted to believe that too, but I couldn't. Me fathering the child she carried had to stay hidden and that meant I couldn't mark them. My wolf was an absolute prick
