I got out of the car and slipped my hands into my pockets as I watched the little werewolf limp toward Austin and then disappear into the packhouse. Austin shifted his gaze towards me, his forehead frowning, and I shrugged my shoulders as I walked down the driveway and then up the steps of the porch, passed him and entered the house while he followed me.
" Can you explain why she smells like you?" asked my beta.
"We were in the same car," I replied without breaking down in the slightest.
" I don't mean that and you know it very well," he busied himself as I walked to my office.
