I sank back into the tub and watched as his tall form stood by the mouth of the cave, towering against me and of course blocking a great deal of the faint light that was supposed to be on me.
"Vincenzo."
I called softly, my voice shaking. He was still, not saying anything, just staring at me, his eyes bright despite the darkness of the cave.
"Beauty."
He responded. And then he took a step forward. I swallowed hard, hoping he would turn away and leave me alone to my thoughts. But a part. Of me was curious. Why had he come after me? What was keeping him awake as I was too?
' When was the last time he called you beauty?'
Mia asked and I instantly felt my heart skip a beat. He only called me beauty when I was in his arms or when he was one step closer to taking me in his arms.
"I... I wanted to be alone so I came here."
I said.
He did not respond immediately. He was still watching me keenly as I struggled to keep my hair from being submerged in the water while trying to keep myself
