Edward froze, frowning slightly. It hadn't even crossed his mind that Elias might've stepped in because of his grandfather.
Just then, his phone rang. He looked down and saw that it was Nolan calling.
He answered and immediately asked, "Nolan, did my grandfather ask Elias for the antidote?"
"No, Mr. Hale offered to help on his own. I just got off the phone with his secretary," Nolan answered. "So, you don't have to go abroad on your own now, Mr. Fowler. Ms. Smith is going to be okay."
After hearing that, Edward became even more convinced that Elias wasn't helping him for his grandfather's sake. After all, Edward and Macie were divorced, so she was basically his grandfather's ex-granddaughter-in-law. Elias did not have to go out of his way to help her.
"Elias has an ulterior motive. We're not using his antidote," Edward coldly said.
