Charlotte stared at the phone as it rang, pondering why he would be calling her. She had no idea. Ignoring the call, she placed the phone on the nightstand and went into the shower. They had no business with each other, and she didn’t remember leaving anything behind at his house.

At Charlrin Company, the employees were buzzing about who the new CEO might be.
“Have you heard about the new CEO? I heard the family who owns this company has several sons. Perhaps one of them is taking the position,” one of the ladies speculated, her gaze lingering on the one next to her.
They were both holding files and heading for the elevator.
“I bet our new CEO will be charming,” the second replied. “I’d love to be his personal assistant. That might bring me closer to him.”
“No way! How can you get the position when I’m here? I’ve been using the elevator next to the one the president uses on purpose. What if we get to see him earlier than the others?”
