Chapter: CHAPTER 4ELARAI felt hands on me, as if I were being carried by some group of people.Groaning from the stabbing throbbing in my head, and the soreness all over my body, I tried to open my eyes, but it felt heavy at first. Slowly, I was moved, followed by the feeling of the cold marble on my thighs.Trying for the second time, I pried one eye open, followed by the other, and the first face I saw was Janet's, staring at me with furrowed brows. "Are you okay?"Palming my forehead, I leaned off the metal walls and slowly looked around, recognizing the metal hallway. "What happened?""You fainted," Janet replied. "I didn't realize that creature would scare you to the point of fainting."My brows furrowed. "I fainted out of fear?" That makes no sense. I wasn't scared of the creature, at least not up to the point of fainting."What is the last thing you remember?" Janet asked me as she helped me to my feet. Breathing out slowly, I lifted my hands to check if I sustained any injury of any form, b

Chapter: CHAPTER 3ELARAI recognized those golden eyes instantly…They looked a whole lot like the one in my dream…And that fact frightened me…How could I have possibly been dreaming of a creature that I didn’t even know existed? With shaky hands, I reached for the switch, omitted the red light switch, and turned on the warm one to be able to get a closer look at the creature. The first thing I noticed when the lights came on was the chains binding him to the wall… thick, massive chains. I would need both hands and all the strength I can muster to be able to carry a small fragment of that chain. It could be used to anchor a ship. Slowly, my eyes followed the chain to the creature…It was tall…impossibly tall. Its claws were long and sharp enough to tear through human flesh without much effort, its body covered with hair, though it did nothing to hide the marks, covering its body. Several lines ran across its body where incisions seemed to have been made and sealed again imperfectly.IV lines fed in

Chapter: CHAPTER 2ELARA"…from the pitch blackness, bright golden eyes emerged, groaning slowly at me, his groans forming words that sounds so much like…Mine…~~~A sound woke me up before the dream could finish.I shot upright, chest heaving with rapid, shallow breaths, my comforter twisted uselessly around my legs. I dragged a trembling hand down my face, trying to calm my heart which was slamming against my ribs like it was trying to break free, but no amount of slow breathing seemed to convince it that I was safe.My room was pitch black, probably due to electricity being cut off again due to the storm, but for a disorienting moment, I couldn’t be certain I had woken up at all, it felt like I was still in my dreams, especially when I heard it again…The same sound that woke me up from sleep.A low growl…It sounded so faint, and distant, so faint that I am actually surprised it woke me from sleep. The sound stopped just as quickly as it had happened.Trying to figure out where it was coming from,

Chapter: CHAPTER 1ELARAMy feet slammed hard against the soaked forest ground as I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. The rain had only just stopped, leaving the earth muddy and covered with shallow puddles, but I did not slow down or try to avoid them. Water splashed around my ankles each time my foot struck the ground, yet I kept moving forward without caring about the mess.My breathing had already become uneven and rough, each breath scraping painfully through my throat as I struggled to pull enough air into my lungs. Behind me, somewhere deep in the forest, a low growl echoed through the trees. The sound made my heart pound harder. It did not sound like wolves. It did not sound like any animal I had ever heard before. The growl was deeper… rougher… almost wild in a way that made the hair on the back of my neck rise. That sound alone pushed me to run faster.I forced my legs to move quicker, pouring every last bit of strength into each step. My muscles burned, and my chest felt tight, but fear
