Revenged Love

Revenged Love

Axel, an eleven-year-old boy, was robbed of his childhood after the brutal assassination of his parents by the Hawthornes - his family’s longtime rivals. His parents had discovered the dark secrets behind the Hawthornes’ wealth, and for that, they paid with their lives. To deceive the media, the Hawthornes took Axel in, pretending to care for him while secretly turning his life into a living nightmare behind their cold, gilded walls. Yet, in the midst of that darkness, there was Mia Hawthorne, a girl a year younger than Axel. She was the only one who cared. Every night, she would sneak into the dark room where Axel was locked away, bringing him food and comfort. She talked to him, shared her heart, but Axel always turned away - silent, haunted, his eyes fixed on the memory of his parents’ lifeless bodies. But then, by a twist of fate - through Mia’s mistake - Axel escaped, vanishing into the unknown. But he returned, hardened and driven by a single purpose: to destroy the entire Hawthorne bloodline. Will Axel succeed in wiping out the family that destroyed his life, including the one person who once showed him kindness? Stay tuned to find out. You don’t want to miss this.

Chapter: Chapter 42
"I wasn’t expecting today to turn out like this," Caleb said, resting his hands on the table as Axel sat opposite him, arms folded. Andrew, on the other hand, stood at the head of the table. He couldn’t sit still or mind his own business, so he started scrolling through Mia’s images on the laptop — still hooked up to the projector — which caught Axel’s eye every now and then. "I mean…" Caleb’s voice dragged his attention back. "Mia is one of my most trusted employees. She hardly ever makes mistakes." He paused, studying Axel’s face. "You should know better... since you two know each other." He didn’t really expect a response from Axel, but he went on anyway. His gaze drifted elsewhere as he continued, "She’s always taken her work seriously, and I was really counting on this one being a success." He narrowed his eyes slightly. "I’m starting to think—" "So this is what you dragged me here for?" Axel cut in sharply. The interruption caught Caleb off guard that his

Chapter: Chapter 41
By the time Mia reached Caleb’s office, she found him standing by the massive window that nearly swallowed the entire wall, staring blankly at the city. Outwardly, he was calm. Inwardly, not so much. The faint frown on his face did a terrible job of hiding it. He was so deep in thought that he didn’t notice her come in at all. It took the soft click of the door for him to finally acknowledge her existence, sending her a sideways glance before turning and striding back to his desk. Mia only watched. She didn’t know whether to sit down or start explaining herself. In fact, she hadn’t moved an inch since she arrived. Then Caleb’s voice came. "Miss Mia, please have a seat." He didn’t sound angry or annoyed. If anything, he sounded like the kind of person who was about to deliver bad news very carefully, slowly, softly, and with just enough kindness to make it hurt more. Mia slowly obeyed and sat opposite him. Even with the air conditioner running, she felt uncomfortably hot.

Chapter: Chapter 40
Andrew nudged him sharply with his elbow, earning a cold glare from Axel. When Axel showed no hint of regret, though Andrew had not expected any, Andrew turned to face the curious stares around the room. "I’m his assistant in every way," he said aloud. It did absolutely nothing to help. The room remained steeped in confusion. What made it worse was that Axel was technically right. He was less a client and more an unexpected guest who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else, so whatever work he did didn’t really matter to their understanding. But that subtle distinction went over most heads, leaving several people blinking in confusion. Mia wasn’t surprised by his response though. If anything, she’d expected it... perhaps even worse. She knew him too well for disappointment. Still, a quiet part of her had hoped he might say more, reveal something. Her gaze caught Axel’s as he turned back to the front, and her heart stuttered. Even from across the room, those hazel

It didn’t take long before more clients began to arrive. Caleb greeted each of them with a handshake before returning to his position at the head of the table, where the projector was mounted on the wall behind him. Mia moved to the second-to-last seat, as the front spots were reserved for senior staff, including Damien, who chose to sit beside her. Their gazes would occasionally meet, and they’d share a small, fleeting smile. It was the same with most of the other clients... well, except for the smiles. Some whispered comments to each other, and Mia caught a few, but all she did was inwardly roll her eyes. Were they really that desperate to know why she was here? That curious? Curious why she didn’t want to dive into her dad’s business? She almost snorted. Almost. But then Damien’s hand found hers under the table, giving a gentle squeeze. She looked at him, her mouth slightly open in surprise, then smiled at his quiet support. Somehow, the prying gazes around her didn’t b

Chapter: Chapter 38
Mia arrived at work and, instead of finding her boss, Mr. Caleb Harrington, in his office, she found him alone in the conference room, earnestly rehearsing how he planned to impress his clients. The moment she walked in, he froze, clearly caught talking to himself, before quickly recovering and putting on a polite smile."Miss Mia," he said, and only then seemed to realise how different she looked.Mia closed the door quietly, let go of the doorknob she had been gripping for no good reason, and took a step forward."Good morning, sir.""Morning. You look… quiet. Different.""Oh." Mia tucked a strand of hair behind her ear."Yes. And even though I really shouldn’t be telling you what to do," he cleared his throat, "I think you should let your hair down more often. It… suits you."Mia tried, and failed to hide her smile."Thanks," she said. "I’ll… consider that change."Caleb smiled, then quickly rearranged his expression into something more appropriate for the office."I honestly didn’

Chapter: Chapter 37
That night, Mia made sure to go to sleep early and set her alarms. The conference was at nine, so she planned to be up by seven. To avoid being betrayed by sleep, she set alarms for 7:00, 7:01, 7:02, and every minute after that until 7:30.It worked, though she still woke up at 7:15 out of pure panic. She dragged herself out of bed, her hair wild and her eyes puffy, looking like someone who had not slept enough. She needed more sleep, badly. She took her time getting dressed and applied a light layer of makeup, using concealer to hide the dark circles and puffiness that made her almost resemble a panda... minus the cuteness.Letting her hair fall around her like a curtain, she stared at her reflection, as if expecting the mirror to offer encouragement. It did not. So her eyes just roamed over her body instead. The white button-up shirt and a bright pink skirt gave her a neat, composed look. And then she noticed her weight. She was slender, not fragile, not stick thin, just naturally
