Chapter: WATCH ME DIE
“Since you refuse to be my bodyguard, it simply means you’re willing to watch me die,” Derek said bluntly, his voice low but firm.Rafe let out a heavy breath, lowering his gaze before meeting Derek’s eyes again.“I honestly can’t watch you die… but I still can’t be your bodyguard,” he replied quietly.“Then you can leave. I’ll find my own way home,” Derek declared, stepping forward without another glance.Rafe remained rooted, watching him walk away.“Wait!” he called suddenly.Derek stopped and turned back.“I’ll at least get you home safely,” Rafe promised. But Derek shook his head, one brow raised.“Just drop you safely,” Rafe corrected. “I don’t really know you, and I’m not interested in being anyone’s bodyguard.”“Why?” Derek asked abruptly.“Why what?” Rafe responded, confused.“Why don’t you want to be my bodyguard?” Derek pressed, scoffing lightly.“I… I want to help, but I can’t,” Rafe admitted.“I’ll pay you well,” Derek offered immediately.“No. It’s not about the money. His punches landed clean, his kicks sharp and deliberate. He fought until only one man remained, a single kick sent him crashing to the ground. Their leader was the last one standing, he clapped slowly, amused. “A skillful fighter!” he praised with a grin, then motioned his gun at him. “So what?” Rafe asked, his expression hardening as the weapon was aimed at him.“Move an inch and I’ll blast your head off,” he warned as Rafe stood still.“Who are you? And what do you want?” Derek demanded, his voice shaking. Behind him, Rafe discreetly shoved his gun into the waistband at his back.“You'll find out when we get there,” the masked man answered, pulling out his walkie-talkie.“Target s

Chapter: RAFE'S INTERVENTION
Derek slid into the back seat of his car, exhausted.“Take me home,” he instructed curtly.Minutes later, the car pulled into his penthouse. Derek stepped out and strode into his bedroom, tugging off his suit jacket and loosening his tie.“Shawn is such a fool,” he muttered with a sharp exhale.Just then, his phone began to ring. He glanced at the screen; Unknown Caller.A chill crept down his spine. He hesitated, then answered.“Hello, sir,” a frantic voice whispered. “We’re being attacked at the company. Chapter: STOP DIGGING
Derek Morgan sat in one of his private bars, swirling the last of his whiskey as he stared at the amber liquid instead of drinking it. He was the CEO of Morganton Empire.“What’s my next schedule for tonight?” he asked without looking up at his personal assistant, Steve.“Gala, sir,” Steve replied. “And… one hour left.”Derek’s jaw tightened. He hated galas; the lights, the noise, the fake smiles. With a sharp exhale, he snapped his fingers for Steve to continue.“That’s all, sir.”Derek set the glass down and rose, adjusting the tie of his perfectly tailored suit.“We’re leaving now.”He turned, but before he could take a step, he collided with a waiter carrying a tray of wine. Two glasses crashed to the floor, red liquid splashing across his suit.“Hell,” Derek muttered, staring at the white shirt now stained a muddy brown. He looked up, ready to lash out, but the moment he met the waiter’s gaze, he froze; staring at the hot, handsome waiter who wore only a black apron, revealing a
