Mira Locke experiences the ultimate humiliation. Her fated mate, Jax, rejects her in front of the whole pack at the Shadow Bridge Bonding Ceremony.
While still heartbroken, she escapes an assassination attempt and leave for Lunar Veil.
For Jax, rejecting Mira isn't enough. He wants her eliminated, so he sends bounty hunters after her.
One rain-soaked night, with hunters chasing, Mira falls into the arms of Darius Kane, the powerful Alpha King of Lunar Veil, who is fighting to keep his throne against three rival packs.

Darius saves Mira and takes her to his castle where he announces Mira as his Luna. After the devastating heartbreak she suffered from Jax, Mira's heart is closed to love. A plague happens befalls Lunar Veil. The pack's seer reveals Mira carries cursed blood, and the plague is happening because of her. The seer reveals this is the reason Mira's first fated mate rejected her and tried to kill her. The plague will worse if she is not banished.
