Chapter: 011
Sofia’s P.O.VMy breath caught in my throat. I gripped onto the fork I held tightly as I tilted my head to the side. As the steps got closer, my feet tapped repeatedly on the ground. It had been a means to control my urge to run because at home running meant nothing. Immediately, I spotted Scarlette I jerked to my feet and dropped my fork.It clattered with the plate and slipped onto the table. “I’m sorry,” the words spilled from my words. Why had I said that? The smile she walked in wavered till it dropped and her lips pressed into a thin line. Her hands that were spread wide had pulled itself back and clung at her sides. “Sorry? For what?” she asked and took a step closer. Her expression read concern so I had to deescalate the situation quickly.“Nothing,” I let out a little lap and spread my lips into a slight smile. She frowned; her eyebrow dipped every time I blinked. “Are you sure?”“Yes, I’m perfect”.She gave a slow nod. “Okay,” her words dripped with doubt and I hoped wha

Chapter: 010
Sofia’s P.O.VI let out a guttural moan as I turned around in bed. My eyebrows furrowed at the extra space. I had shut my eyes to someone beside me but as my fingers reached forward, I felt no one. I clenched my jaw at the tiny hope that festered in me that he would be here when he had clearly stated the rules of our sham of a marriage. My lashes fluttered open and I was greeted by the sunlight that slipped through the gap the curtains gave. I took in a breath, my chest rising and falling alongside. This is my life now. I wasted no time in agreeing to the terms of the marriage but not feeling him beside me left me with a pang in my chest. This wasn’t exactly the idea of marriage I had imagined in my head every day at my family’s house. I wanted something, sweet and soft. Someone I would wake up to. My parents loved each other dearly, just not me. I would watch them with a faint smile then catch myself and frown, irritated. My face had a frown at the moment. What a way to start

Chapter: 009
Sofia’s P.O.V As If my mind was not divided enough, his hands slipped out of me and curled under my legs. He pulled me off my feet and I curled my legs around his waist. His gaze met mine. “This marriage is contractual and for this to work, you have to follow the three rules I would set”. Before I could respond, he had already walked to the bed. He leaned forward and placed me gently on the bed. He drew nearer, his left knee pressed against the edge of the bed while the other pressed against the bed frame to support his weight. He hovered over me as his hands gripped on the bed. “You will not meddle in my business,” he began. He cocked his head to the side and let his lips press against my neck. I hummed an answer. "Whether I return late... or whether I don't return at all, you will not come looking for me. You will not ask where I've gone, who I'm with, or what happened. You will not send anyone after me. You will stay exactly where you are and wait. No questions. No sea

Sofia’s P.O.VRoman stared at me for a moment. I gulped. “I-I was just— “Within minutes, his hand reached and grabbed my waist. He pulled me to him, and I slammed into his chest. He shut his eyes before he placed his lips against mine. My eyes widened, but when I remembered I was his wife now I let him. My lips gave way, and his tongue slipped in. His tongue found mine, and they circled for a minute. One hand pressed against my back, and the other tightened the grip he had on my waist. I gasped at how tight his hand was.He smiled into the kiss. His hand moved. It slid up till it rested under my breast. His fingers curled my boob, then tightened their grip. I let out a breath, not wanting to show any sign of fear. I couldn’t show him I was afraid, but even that made his lips widen slightly. He released his grip, then tightened it again.I placed one leg above the other as a shiver went through me. A finger escaped from rounding my boob, then flicked my nipple. It did this

Chapter: 007
Sofia’s P.O.VI stopped in my tracks. We were inches away from the car when my sister-in-law called. “Sofia”.“Here,” She handed me a bag when she arrived in front of me. I furrowed my eyebrows. “What is it?”She smirked. “A little something to help the wedding night jitters.”My eyebrows shot up and my eyes grew wide.“Don’t open it till you’re alone,” she ordered. I nodded. I was too afraid to open it either way. “Thank you,” I whispered before I turned.* * * We left not too long after. He wasn’t exactly enjoying the wedding and neither was I. He had this poker face; lips pressed into a thin line and eyes void of emotion. His usually furrowed eyebrows were expressionless. Looking at him made me shiver so I didn’t face him. Not through the walk out of the church, not in the car ride and not as we walked into his house. Once he walked into the living room, he reached for his tie and tugged at it. He shook his head side to side as the tie showed a bit

Chapter: 006
Sofia’s P.O.VIf I thought Lucia’s dress was terrible then this was a nightmare. The dress poked and itched my skin but I had to stay composed. After all, it was my wedding and I had no way to escape it. I had completely forgot that I wanted to escape earlier because of the date earlier.I looked out the window of the car, holding the bouquet tightly with one hand while I adjusted the bust of the dress, tugging it here and there. My eyebrows furrowed as sweat rolled down my forehead.Would I be able to jump out of this car?I wasn’t sure it was possible. I wouldn’t get anywhere. I would slam against the roll, and give myself more bruises than I already had.If I managed to pick myself from the ground without getting hit by a moving car then the train of the dress would slow me down if these heels didn’t snap.I would have to wrap the hole dress in my hands while maneuvering. I sighed, that needed more strength than I had within me. I had stayed up last night listening to my parents y
