Survivor of Nightshade
Raymond Shade’s life has been nothing but torture.
Born to a ruthless pack leader who rules through fear, intimidation, and violence, Raymond has spent his entire life learning how to survive the people who were supposed to protect him. Treated as little more than a punching bag by his own pack, he finally reaches his breaking point. Desperate for a life beyond his father’s control, Raymond leaves his home pack behind and travels to Shadow Claw to begin his training.
He expects harsh lessons, brutal challenges, and a chance to prove himself.
What he doesn’t expect to find are three Alpha brothers who make resisting temptation nearly impossible.
Powerful, dangerously handsome, and completely different from the Alphas Raymond has known his entire life.
And Raymond is absolutely, hopelessly attracted to all three.
Their attention makes his heart race. Their protectiveness leaves him breathless. And every stolen glance, teasing smile, and lingering touch makes him want them even more.

Chapter: Chapter 23(Draven’s POV)The ambulance sped through the city roads, sirens cutting through the quiet night. The cardiac monitor continued its steady rhythm. Raymond’s oxygen saturation climbed a little with each passing minute, but his breathing remained shallow, every wheezing inhale sounding strained despite the oxygen mask. Watching his chest rise and fall to the rhythm of his shaky breaths made me feel completely helpless. All I can do is continue holding his hand, and stay by his side. So much for being a powerful Alpha. What’s the use when I can’t even do anything to take away his pain?Just as I was beginning to spiral into a series of self-doubt, the voice of my wolf, Anubis, rudely interrupted my brooding.[Why’re you beating yourself up so much? It’s not you who put this poor young man into this state. Moping around isn’t going to do you any good.] I laughed internally at his words. Yes, I knew he was right, but that doesn’t mean I appreciated his rationality.[I know. But damnit,

Chapter: Chapter 22We moved through the corridors quickly, keeping a steady pace. When we rounded the final corner toward the main entrance, Monica stepped beside us."I'll be following in my vehicle," she said quickly. "Toney will have surgery ready by the time you arrive. I've already sent him Raymond's lab work, ultrasound findings, and vital signs electronically."I gave a short nod. "Thank you."She offered a small smile, though her eyes still held a quiet anger. "You don't have to thank me." Her eyes drifted to Raymond. "I'm doing exactly what I'd hope someone would do for me… or for anyone I cared about. Plus…” Her voice trailed off briefly. “...when he came into the room, and I saw the marks on his body, I damn near lost control. Draegan, I have been working in this field for a long time. I have seen countless injuries, have seen people lying on the table full of bruises, scars; things that have kept me up at night." She took a deep breath, her shoulders slumped by a fraction before continuing.

Chapter: Chapter 21I looked back toward my brothers while running my fingers through my hair in frustration. “I should have pushed a little more, about bringing him to the medical wing,” I said quietly.“No, you did what you could at the time. You gave him the option to get medical help if he needed,” Monica said gently, stepping closer and resting her hand on my shoulder. Her eyes locked onto mine with that same reassuring gaze she always wears when she knows, without a doubt, that she’s right. Defeated by her stubbornness, I let out a frustrated huff. “You’re right. I know you’re right, but fuck, I hate that it took him to reach this point to finally reach out for our help. And before you say anything, I know that this is a new place for him, and he doesn’t know us, but still… his condition is serious. The outcome could have been so much worse.” Monica nodded, glancing back toward Raymond for a moment before returning her attention to me. “I agree. The outcome could have been worse if he hadn’t rece

Chapter: Chapter 20Raymond lets out another strained wheeze, and my attention snaps back to him. His face is still flushed, and sweat beads along his temples despite the cool washcloth resting across his forehead. I moved closer and brushed a damp strand of soft raven-black hair away from his face, careful not to disturb the fresh dressing Monica placed over the cut near his hairline."So damn stubborn," I whispered, more to myself than anyone else. “You waited until you physically couldn't stand anymore before asking for help.”Why?Draven glanced over at me and pondered for a moment before speaking. "He was most likely scared that if we found out about his injuries and the state of his body, we would send him packing." He released a heavy sigh and shook his head before looking back at Raymond for another moment before continuing. “Our pack isn’t known for being the most…forgiving,” he let out a chuckle and turned his attention back to Raymond’s unconscious figure laying on the bed.I know he's right.

Chapter: Chapter 19It was a lot to absorb all at once.Monica moves over to a nearby cabinet and begins gathering supplies with quick movements. Sterile IV tubing, saline bags, syringes, alcohol swabs, gauze, and packaged needles are arranged neatly on a small stainless-steel tray before she wheels it back to the bedside. She lowers herself onto a rolling stool and pulls on a pair of blue nitrile gloves with two sharp snaps. Opening the sterile packaging, she prepares the IV catheter before wrapping a tourniquet around Raymond's upper right arm.Colt, Draven, and I stand shoulder to shoulder near the bed, watching every movement in complete silence. We might be intimidating to everyone else, but right now all three of us feel helpless and restless, our eyes never leaving Raymond.Monica gently palpates along his forearm, searching for a usable vein. After a few moments, she gives a small nod to herself. "There you are." Holding the catheter at a shallow angle, she carefully guides it through his skin. R

Chapter: Chapter 18We hurried down the eastern corridor toward the medical wing, our footsteps striking hard on the polished hardwood floors. Beside me, Draven clicked his tongue softly, a nervous habit I hadn't heard in years. The medical room doors finally came into view, and I shoved through them without slowing down. Beta Monica Shae was already waiting for us, moving across the room with brisk strides as I carefully lowered Raymond onto the bed. Her long black hair was twisted into a neat braided bun, and her blue eyes sharp behind thin-framed glasses. The second Raymond hit the mattress, whatever softness might have been in her expression disappeared. She slipped a penlight from the pocket of her white coat and immediately went to work. She checked his pupils, pulled down his lower lip to examine the inside of his mouth, pressed two fingers against his pulse, and then reached for the digital thermometer. Nobody spoke, and the silence felt fucking suffocating.Several agonizing seconds passed be
