The Villainess Who Rewrote The Ending

The Villainess Who Rewrote The Ending

I knew how the novel ended. The heroine was betrayed, the Alpha King lost the woman destined to rule beside him, and the kingdom paid for his mistakes. What I never expected was waking up inside that very story as Elena Ashford, the villainess who was supposed to die before the original heroine’s wedding. My fate was simple: seduce the Alpha King, betray his chosen mate, and die for a crime I could never escape. Lucky for me, I’m an editor. And I’m rewriting this story. I would stay away from Adrian Blackthorne, keep my head down, and find a way to survive. Unfortunately, the Alpha King noticed the change before I could put my plan into action. He no longer saw the desperate woman who once chased his attention. Instead, he saw someone who questioned his decisions, challenged his authority, and knew too much about a conspiracy no one dared to discuss. Then I found out the royal seal that ruined my family was tied to the betrayal that killed the original Luna. Someone had rewritten more than my fate. And the closer I came to the truth, the harder it became to stay away from the one man I knew I should never love. I came into this world determined to survive. I never expected to become the woman who could change the Alpha King’s ending.

Chapter: 4. The Alpha King
Seraphina gave her one last careful look, then walked back toward the tall windows.Nora let out a slow breath. At least that part was over. But the king was still looking at her.She told herself it meant nothing. Adrian watched everyone. That was half of what made him so scary. So she kept her promise and stayed as far away from Seraphina as she could. She walked over to a pillar near the drinks table, and a servant handed her a glass of water. She took it, but she didn’t drink. His golden eyes followed her to the pillar. They followed her when she turned around, too. She could feel them on her back.Strange.In the book, Adrian barely looked at Elena unless she forced him to. And from what Tessa said, Elena had forced him a lot. But now Nora was doing nothing at all, and he was still staring at her like she was a puzzle he wanted to figure out.She had spent her whole job asking what a character wanted. She had no idea what this man wanted from her, and that bothered her more than

Chapter: 3. The Original Heroine
“Lady Elena.” Seraphina’s voice was low, but she didn’t look away. “What have you planned for me this time?”Nora’s mind went completely blank. She had expected whispers, cold stares, and maybe a few mean comments from people who remembered what Elena used to be like. But what she had not expected was to stand face-to-face with the girl whose death had made her hiss at her bedroom ceiling at two in the morning.Seraphina waited for her answer. The music was still playing, but all the talking around them had stopped. Nora could feel everyone’s eyes on her, which made it harder for her to keep it together.Of course they were all watching. Elena Ashford had promised the whole court a show, and nobody was going to believe she changed her mind just because she showed up wearing a dark dress.“I haven’t planned anything for you,” Nora said.“Really?”“Yes.”“Then why did you tell half the house I’d regret standing in the same room as you?”Nora swallowed hard. There was no way she could an

Chapter: 2. The Woman Everyone Hates
“The whole court already knows what you said about Seraphina.”Nora had barely stepped out of the carriage when the young woman waiting at the palace doors greeted her with those words.Nora stopped, one hand lifting her gown off the ground. The woman was wearing an elegant emerald dress, and her brown hair was neatly pinned up with a pearl comb. She looked familiar, but Nora couldn’t remember who she was.“Sorry?” Nora asked. The woman’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t tell me you forgot. You looked pretty proud of yourself yesterday.”Yesterday.Nora searched her mind for Elena’s memories, hoping something would come back to her, but there was nothing. No memories came flooding back. No helpful flashback. All she had was the book, and the book had never cared enough to mention what Elena said on a normal afternoon.“I’m having a bad morning,” she said slowly.“I can tell.” The woman looked at Nora’s plain dress. “And now you’re dressed like a widow.”Nora looked down at the dark fabric. “What

Chapter: 1. The Ending I Hated
“Lady Elena, please wake up.”Nora opened her eyes to find a stranger standing beside her bed.For a few seconds, she just stared at the woman, still too sleepy to make sense of anything. Then she noticed the canopy above her, the silk sheets covering her body. The crystal chandelier hung from a ceiling carved in gold.Nora sat up so quickly her head started spinning.“Where am I?”The servant blinked at her. “In your chambers, my lady.”“My chambers?”Her eyes moved slowly around the room. There was a marble fireplace, a wardrobe filled with gowns, and a dressing table covered in so much jewelry it could have paid her rent for a whole year. But none of it belonged to her.Nora pushed the covers away and jumped out of bed, almost tripping on her way to the mirror. The woman staring back at her had long black hair, pale skin, and sharp green eyes. She was beautiful. There was no doubt about that. But she wasn’t Nora.Slowly, Nora raised a hand to her cheek, and the woman in the mirro
