Chapter 19

As Ashley made her way to the school premises in the dark, it was awfully silent. The crescent moon hid between the clouds. The air was chilly, Ashley could feel goose bumps on her skin. 

She regretted not putting on her hoodie but she had gone too far to turn back. She didn't know exactly where she was supposed to meet Elizabeth. 

She was now in the hallway and it was darker than ever. She wondered why the lights were not on. She brought out her phone from her bag so that she could at least use the flashlight on her phone to see but something made her stop. 

The sound of approaching footsteps made her freeze on the spot. Could it be Elizabeth? Or was it someone else? 

With trembling hands, she unlocked her phone and quickly turned on the flash light. The flashlight illuminated the hallway a little but there was no one there. 

'What the hell? I'm sure I heard footsteps. Was I Mistakened? Is the person hiding?' She thought,
