Just then, the door cracked open and Henry strolled in.
As soon as Alex set his eyes on Henry, he gradually tightened his fist and all he could think of at the moment was Henry's betrayal. Looking at him, all he wanted to do was to pin him against the wall and probably punch him in the stomach but again he held it in.
Ashley looked from Henry to Alex and from Alex to Henry. The atmosphere was getting tensed as neither of them said anything, not even a word.
Clearing her throat, Ashley spoke.
"I heard you guys were bestfriends" She stated as a matter of fact.
"Did something happen between you two?" She asked. Of course, Annabelle had told her they fought because of a girl. Even though she tried asking Henry a couple of times, he just won't tell. She wanted to know the details and here was her opportunity.
"Forget it" Said Henry as he slowly lowered his butt to the floor beside Ashley.
"Forget it? It's so e
As Ashley made her way to the school premises in the dark, it was awfully silent. The crescent moon hid between the clouds. The air was chilly, Ashley could feel goose bumps on her skin. She regretted not putting on her hoodie but she had gone too far to turn back. She didn't know exactly where she was supposed to meet Elizabeth. She was now in the hallway and it was darker than ever. She wondered why the lights were not on. She brought out her phone from her bag so that she could at least use the flashlight on her phone to see but something made her stop. The sound of approaching footsteps made her freeze on the spot. Could it be Elizabeth? Or was it someone else? With trembling hands, she unlocked her phone and quickly turned on the flash light. The flashlight illuminated the hallway a little but there was no one there.'What the hell? I'm sure I heard footsteps. Was I Mistakened? Is the person hiding?' She thought,
"Wake up Ash, it's 10am already" Anabelle tapped Ashley's leg to wake her up.Ashley stirred and mumbled something Annabelle couldn't make out."Ashley" She moved closer to her, grabbed her shoulders and shook her."Hmm" Ashley mumbled and her eyes opened slowly. The brightness of the room made her squint her eyes. She yawned loudly, stretched her arms and then rubbed her eyes."I thought you were dead" Anabelle teased and chuckled.Ashley groaned and held her head."What? Are you sick?" She asked, putting her hand on Ashley's forehead."No, my head hurts" Ashley replied slowly pushing Annabelle's hand away from her forehead. She looked around the room and her eyes locked with Claire's who quickly removed her gaze and focused all her attention on her phone.Monica strolled out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body."I thought you were never going
Everywhere was sparkling white. The silver decorations around the enormous white building glittered in the sun. It was strange, nothing except a white enormous building was in sight."Where in the world is this place?" Ashley asked, her eyes straying around in amusement.Suddenly, the huge door flung open and a woman in a white dress and partly sliver hair decsended the stairs, taking each step cautiously. They watched in awe, too shocked to say anything.Stopping few steps away from them, she bowed slightly and said, "Welcome back, my lady. We've been waiting for a very long time now, longer than you can imagine. I'm glad you're back".Her mouth was curved in a sweet smile which showed her white, well arranged teeth."What's she blabbing about?" Ashley whispered in Henry's ears, the corners of her eyes fixed on the woman in a white dress."I have no idea" Henry whispered back."You have no i
"Do you know that Mr Briggs will put us in groups today?" Annabelle asked Ashley who was busy lacing her shoes. It was a Monday morning and they were preparing for school."Oh lord, please let me be in a group of brilliant minds" Said Monica.Ashely scoffed at her prayer and said, "Anna, I'm all done. Let's go" ."Hey! You guys should wait. Just a minute... " Claire quickly grabbed her backpack."What?" a crease crept on Ashley's forehead."Let's go together" Claire said."What? Do you realize how crazy that sounds?" Ashley stared at her in disbelief."Yeah, it's sounds crazy. Now let's go, we're running late" Monica said and then she pushed them out of the room.Ashley just couldn't believe it. They had been behaving too nicely lately. They even tagged along with them to the field on Saturday. It was just so strange but it felt good. She did not exactly hate them, she just hated their attitude
He pulled her all the way to the abandoned storeroom."Hey slow down" She breathed heavily and then he let go of her hand once they were in the storeroom."What is it?" Her voice sounded a little bit low as she rested her back on the wall, still trying to catch her breath.Henry drew in a deep breath. His heart raced. He didn't plan what he was about to say, but he couldn't hold it any longer either.A little bit frustrated, he ruffled his hair and turned around."I.... The thing is... " he broke off biting his lower lips."What?" Asked Ashley, standing upright. He took quick steps closer to her.Alarmed, she took quick steps backwards and hit her back on the wall. He didn't stop. He moved closer still until the distance between them was covered. His body was close to hers and she could feel his breath on her skin.Biting his lower lips again out of nervousness, he said,"I...
"And where do you think you're going?" A voice said behind them and they turned. It was Charles and some other guys. There was this dangerous aura around him as he fixed his eyes on the trio. "You have to watch out for the demons. They'll be after you now that your identity has been revealed and they'll try to kill more humans than before to bring back the war beast as soon as possible..." Priestess Luciana's words rang a bell in Ashley's ears. Moving a step forward, she said, "What now? What do you want huh?". A smirk appeared on her lips as she questioned the confident looking Charles. Charles squinted his eyes. Already, his blood was boiling and the only thing he wanted to do at the moment was to wipe them away from the surface of the earth. Their existence was dangerous to their kind but he had no choice than to let them go. After all, his powers can't be used during the day, only at night. "What are you doing here?
Her eyes shifted to the side again. They were glazed with glassy layer of tears. As she blinked, they dripped from her eyelids and slid down her cheek. She wiped it off with her thumb. She stared at the sky like someone who was searching for something important. She felt goosebumps on her skin, no doubt, the night was cold. It was awfully silent. She was seated alone on the pavement in the school. She knew she was going against the school rules, but she didn't mind. She needed some time alone. She needed to clear her head. She inhaled deeply. Everything around her looked gloomy too. The trees, swaying slowly like they were sympathising with her, the moon seemed to be looking at her directly in the face too. She could picture a look of pity on the face of the moon. The stars twinkled, like they were trying to tell her everything is going to be fine. She was snapped out of her thoughts by a whisper. She was startled. Of cour
Ashley was seated in her dad's mini van. Her forehead was wrinkled, her eyebrows drawn together, her lips turned downward. She was angry. Angry that they had to relocate, angry that her dad enrolled her in a boarding school because he'll be going on a business trip alongside with her mom, angry dad she's gonna have to start a new life in her new school, angry that she got separated from her friends. In fact, everything happening around her angered her. What angered her most was the fact that it was the sixth time they were relocating. "I'm sorry princess, but we have to move" Her dad always said whenever they were relocating. Those words irritated her ears. She just wanted to live a normal life, not moving from one city to another like some kind of tourist. Her dad and mom never cared about how she felt, her opinion did not matter. They always do what they want. Her dad stepped on the brake and the mini van screeched to
