"I was still in my shell while living with my grandma and cousin brothers, because I was still grieving my late parents. It was hard to accept they were gone, and move on." I blew out a big puff off breath, then allowed my eyes to meet his. We maintained eye contact for a while, with my cheeks flushing. Until I looked away from him and carried on with what I was saying. "It was after the kitchen incident when I was thirteen, that I started coming out of my shell. I even became wild. Started wearing and borrowing my cousins clothes. Drink beer with them, do minor jobs just to earn cash, because we were still so poor. We the kids were struggling to make ends meet, because our grandma wasn't really fit to help us. She was quite old then."

"I must say, you did enjoyed your stay with them." Alex said, staring at me in a thoughtful manner.

"Yeah, I did. I miss them very much."
