Chapter 5

Pickett was stunned for a minute and they are just looking at each other when a knock on the door interrupts them, that is when Lacy tried to free herself but Pickett forces her to lay on the bed and held her hand tightly, also he put his other free hand on her mouth.

“Lady Lacy? Are you okay?” a girl asked. Lacy tried to kick his groin but Pickett managed to stop her and lock her inside of his body.

So, Pickett is on top of Lacy, like his whole body is trapping Lacy and preventing her from her future actions.

“Hmmph!” Pickett lowers his body to stop Lacy from moving around. He lowers his head and whispered to her ears.

“I’ll let you go if only you will not scream and you have to shove away your maid," Pickett said. Deep down he is nervous because he might be caught and for sure his father will kill him.

Lacy stared at him for a second before shaking her head. Pickett is looking at her while slowly taking his hand off her mouth. Lacy glared at her before sighing.

"I am a-alright," she clears her throat first before continuing what she's saying. "I just fell out of the bed. I guess I am a little bit clumsy," she said while looking at Pickett who's on top of her.

"Do you want me to call a doctor?" the maid asked again. She closed her eyes tightly and unconsciously lick her lips, which made Pickett's eyes followed.

Pickett saw how beautiful she is, her long eyelashes, rosy cheeks, small face, and kissable lips.

"No. You may go now. Thank you," Lacy firmly said. After a minute, Lacy looks at him, as if she's saying to get her off already.

Pickett immediately lets go of her as if she's a burning wooden. Lacy roll her eyes and wince afterward when she felt a pain in her wounded hand.

When she looks at it, she saw blood on a bandage, she turned her gaze at the guy who's wearing a cloak and mask, his eyes are only showing and the light that is coming from the moon didn't help it either.

Pickett saw the blood and he feels guilty. He's now contemplating if he should apologize or just leave her. But something is odd, as much as he wants to leave already, his body didn't follow what he wants, He wants to stay longer.

"Who are you and why did you barge in my room?" Lacy asked with a serious expression on her face.

Bu Pickett chose not to answer her question and walked towards the balcony where he enters earlier.

"What... hey! Where are you going?" she furiously asked but she makes sure that she's keeping her tone down.

"Leaving." Pickett shortly answered which made Lacy taken aback for a while. So she stood up and follow him where he goes. "Did you come here to kill me?" she straightforwardly asked.

Pickett stopped for a bit. 'Did someone is trying to threaten a soon-to-be queen of my country?' he thought to himself.

"Is someone threatening you?" Pickett can't help but ask. Lacy, on the other hand, shook her head. "Well, if you are, then you're the first one, I supposed," she simply said and crossed her arms above her chest.

Doon lamang napansin ni Pickett ang suot nito, naka-spaghetti dress ito at kitang kita ang malambot at makikinis na balat nito sa kaniyang braso at ang kurba ng katawan nito.

Napansin naman ito ni Lacy kaagad nitong tinakpan ang kaniyang dibdib at nanlalaki ang mga matang tinignan ang lalaki.

"You pervert...!" saad ni Lacy rito, napaawang naman ito at hindi makapaniwala sa ginawa ng lalaki.

"I w-wasn't looking...!" Pickett shyly said and turned away his gaze and ready to jump from the balcony.

But Lacy quickly stop him from jumping by hold the cloth of the cloak. "Hey! Where do you thing are you going?" Lacy frustratedly ask and held his cloak tightly. That made Pickett to look at her direction again.

With her forehead knotted and eyebrows are met, her annoyed face made her even more pretty, that is the first thing that Pickett thought.

"I already told you," he said and look at her straight in the eyes. "Now, let go," he coldly said.

That made Lacy felt scared for the first time, she unconsciously took a step back and gradually lets go of his cloak.

But before she can step away from him, Pickett held her arm and pulled her closer to him. Inilapit nito ang mukha niya sa tenga ni Lacy at halos wala nang distansya ang isa't isa.

"Moon," labis na nagtaka si Lacy sa isinambit nito. "Call me Moon, Lady Marquez," he said and Lacy felt a soft thing that touches her cheeks, in a gently way.

She was stunned for a moment when she realizeed that the man in a cloak, whose name is 'Moon', kissed her cheeks.

Pickett took that opportunity to leave her, before anyone finds out about him.

As he run away from their house, Pickett can't help but to smirked.

Yep. He just kissed her fiancé in the cheeks and soon it wll be in the softest skin that she have, her lips.

After that night, the next day, they welcomed the sun warmthly, but not Lacy. Since she had a hard time to go back to sleep.

"If it were not for that jerk! Tsk," she hissed annoyingly. Aside from she is having a bad mood because she can't sleep, it is also bothering her that how come a guy successfully sneak in her room, without anyone's noticing?

Maybe he wanted to kill me? But unfortunately he failed to do so, because I suddenly woke up.

But if he had an intention of killing me, he should have slit my throat or stab me somewhere in my body, right?

Hmmm... it really intrigues me to the point that I am not scared to face him again, I mean, he's scary but I am not afraid of him anymore.

Okay, just slightly. Just a little bit.

"Lady Lacy?" Glenna called my attetion and I was startled

"What?" I asked. Glenna looks at me weirdly. "Are you okay?" she asked. I nod my head and asked her why.

"Oh... Duke Marquez sent a letter and it came earlier, in the morning," she said and hand me a silver-blue envelop with a blue circle on the center, it is like a melted candle, I forgot what it is called.

I felt excited and immediately read the letter.

From: Lucian Marquez

To: Lacy Marquez

How are you my daughter? I hope you are well. Your papa is also doing well and fortunately the job that I am working with, unexpectedly became a sucess and we are almost done and we can finish it already.

I'm going home, we'll start to leave this place next week and I don't know how long our trip is, but rest assured that I am coming home in instant.

Always take care of yourself and don't let the bugs bite, take care my daughter.

I can't help but to giggle and smile, why is my father, so cute?! I mean, kailan pa?

But my father is going home! I can't help but to feel the excitement. Although it hasn't been long since father-- I mean, dad left, but still! he is coming home already!

This is the first time that my father send me a letter and become this affectionate parent to me and it is giving me a blissful feeling!

I am so happy and feel great! The annoyed feeling earlier suddenly vanished and it's because of my dad's letter for me.

Wow! Thank you King of Gods for giving me another life to live!
