Cody
As I walk into the living room, I notice Sam walking after me."Cody." She calls but I don't respond. "Cody!""What?" I snap. "Why did you promise to her that we're going to help her? I don't want any part of this."Sam stares at me pointedly. "We brought her here to your house and therefore we must help her. She needs help.""Can't we just hand her over to the police and make her not our problem anymore?" I argue and Sam's eyes widen."Cody! We are going to help her whether you like it or not. And that's final." She then grabs my shoulders. "Promise me you're going to help her."I look away and she shakes me lightly. I direct my gaze back to her. "Cody, I want you to promise me that you're going to help Snow."I sigh, not liking the idea. "I promise." Sam smiles."What you said earlier was a very good idea though." She says."You mean handing her over to the police? I thought you weren't happy with that idea." I frown at her."Of course we're not going to just hand Snow over to the police. We're going to ask them for help. And by them, I mean Detective Parker.""Parker?" I say and she nods. I shake my head at her.Cassidy Parker is a detective. A very good one but I don't like him. He likes poking his nose into places it shouldn't be. He annoys me very much. Another reason is because he flirts with a lot of women, especially with my assistant. And he's annoying. I know I've already mentioned that."No way are we asking Parker to help us." I disagree."But he can help.""Can't we ask other detectives to help us instead of Parker? You know I dislike that man.""Well, you're going to have to tolerate him. He's very good at his job. One of the best detectives in the city." Sam looks at me pleadingly.I sigh, taking her idea into consideration. I hate that I am doing so."Fine call him and tell him we'll be at the station to meet him in an hour." Sam nods and pulls out her phone. "I'll call Anderson and ask her to take care of everything and ask Lee for help if she needs any. I'm going to my room."With that, I walk away from Sam towards my bedroom. I shut the door immediately I'm inside and pull off my suit jacket. I call my secretary, Anderson and give her the instructions. I text my brother and deputy CEO, Lee and ask him to help Anderson when he can.I sit down on my bed and run my hand through ny hair. Instead of being at work today, I'm stuck here at home with my stubborn assistant and a stranger who has lost her memory. Meeting Parker later today is going to ruin my day even more.I groan and fall backwards onto my bed, staring at the ceiling. A knock on my door catches my attention. "Yes?""Cody, we'll have to get Snow new clothes on our way to the station. She can't wear the clothes you gave her yesterday all day today you know." Great."Alright then. Let's get going." I respond with an annoyed tone and I hear Sam snicker. I frown at her response. I'm definitely going to have a headache after today.*****The ladies spent more than an hour shopping for clothes. It's a good thing we left home early or else we would’ve been late to meet the Detective.I make sure to lock my car that is parked in front of the police station after we all get out. Parker meets us at the lobby and send us to his office. On our way there, he keeps flirting with Sam but she ignores him. Usually she'd flirt with him to secretly tease him, but I warned her earlier that we were here on serious business so she must keep a straight face today. He tried to flirt with Snow too but I gave him a look that dared him to try and he looked straight ahead.Snow looks around, studying her environment. I glance at her and take in her features. Snow was short with fair skin and long dark hair that reached her waist. I was beginning to see why I named her Snow. She looked small in my eyes. And she was light in my arms arms when I carried her yesterday. Whatever happened to her to let her end up naked in a dumpster must be really bad.Parker offered us seats once we entered his office and he takes his place behind his desk."A glass of water?" He offered."No thanks we're fine." Sam replies but Snow accepts his offer. He gets up from his seat, walks over to his dispenser and pours cold water into a plastic cup for Snow. I roll my eyes.He is wasting our time.He smiles at her and returns to his seat."So what can I help you with?" The Detective asks.Sam began. "We found our friend yesterday lying in a dumpster. She was naked and unconscious." Parker grins when he hears that Snow was naked and I eye him. "When she woke up this morning, she said she can't remember anything. We thought maybe you could help us out."Parker's grin widens, directing his attention to Sam. I sit in the chair uncomfortably and stare at Parker. I'll walk out of here if he doesn't do sonething fast."I can help you out.""Great." Sam replies with relief."I'll take her fingerprints and picture and run it through our databases to see if we can find a match. I'll take her up to one of the forensics scientists and let them run some tests on Snow. I hope you don't mind.""If that's going to help me remember and find out what happened to me, then I don't mind Detective." Snow responds. Parker nods and walks out with Snow. I glare at him, daring him to try anything funny with Snow. After a few minutes, Parker came back, without Snow."Where's she?" I ask him."They're taking her blood samples for testing, she'll be with us soon. Don't worry, Mr Wells.""I'm not worried. I'm just being cautious. I know you too well Parker." I snarl and he chuckles. I hear Sam sigh loudly from beside me and I give her a look.Later, just as Parker said, Snow enters the office. Immediately she sat down in her seat, Parker calls me."I found a match." He grins at me. "Ready to know who you are Snow?" He asks her and I glance at her and at Sam. She looked more nervous than Snow."I'm ready. Detective."Snow"I found a match." Detective Parker announces. "Ready to know who you are Miss Snow?" He asks me and I suddenly feel nervous."I'm ready. Detective." I say."Okay, Miss Snow." Detective parker starts and turns his computer monitor towards us. "Your name is Lily Jenkins."I inhale sharply as he mentions my name, trying to keep my emotions under control. I take in the image of myself on the screen. I had a smile on but it looked forced. And my hair was a little messy but I looked...okay in the picture. "You're 22 years old and you're an investigative reporter," The detecive informs us and snickers. "but you suck at your job. You're unemployed, you have an online blog but not many views. Your parents died in a car crash on their way to your college graduation." He reads my profile out loud and I scowl at him. But my scowl was immediately replaced with a sad face. I have a miserable life. No parents, no job and a lame blog. My life is just sad. My chest felt like it was tightening u
Cody"I remembered something." Snow says softly. "But I have a headache.""You remembered something. What did you remember?" Sam inquires.I half smile and then frown, remembering that she'll be seeing a doctor to run some tests on her and therapist to help her recover her memories. Snow will be owing me a lot.I speed up, wanting to reach home early."I remembered posting my last F******k post." Snow narrates and I pay attention to both her and the road . "I was sitting behind my computer, typing something. I remember that that was after I posted that message on F******k. But I couldn't make out what I was working on behind my computer.""Well, it's better than nothing I guess." Sam lets out a small smile, trying to cheer Snow up. "It's baby steps. You don't have to stress too much about remembering yout past life. It will all come to you." She says."Thanks Sam." We finally arrive at my house and I drive through the automatic gates to the garage. Sam, Snow and I quickly walk into th
Snow Sam and I sit in the consulting room for about an hour before the doctor comes in with the test results. “From our results, the ZIP drug is in every system in your body. It’s not harmful at all so don’t be worried.” The doctor says as he sits down behind his desk. “It’ll slowly leave your body as you recover your memories ." "When will that be?" Sam asks "Well you said that you remembered something yesterday right?" I nod and he continues, "It depends. I can't really say when it'll be completely out of your system. But in the meantime you can see a therapist to help you recover your memories. You also have to be very active too to speed up the process." "Okay." I say with a small smile, not really knowing how to respond to this. "Here's Doctor Stella Gates' card. Call her for an appointment and let her know that I recommended her to you. She's a really busy woman but she'll make time for you when she knows that I recommended her." The doctor hands me a business card and I ta
Cody "Have a minute to spare?" Lee asks, peeking his head through my office door. "Come in." I answer and he enters. "Where's Sam?" "She's running an errand for me." "With a lady? Who's she?" Lee asks with interest, sitting on one of the chairs in front of my desks. I groan inwardly. "How do you know about her?" "So you do have a new girl! Finally." He grinned. "Kylie asked me about her the other day." "How does Kylie know about her?" He shrugs. "Beats me. I didn't ask because I didn't believe her. What's her name?" "Is that what you came here to talk about?" I frown. "No and yes." He nods. "No?" "Mother called me this morning, saying she wanted to meet us three." He suddenly grew serious. "Why does she want to meet the three of us?" My frown grows deeper. "I have no idea but I also don't want to go." I nod slowly, growing more and more angry at the sound of meeting Mother and my sister. "But she said it's urgent." I relax in my seat and rub my temples to calm myself do
Cody After calling Sam and telling her about the explosion at Snow's apartment, I quickly rush out of the men's room. "Lee, we're leaving." I call him. I don't give them time to comprehend what I just said. Lee gives me a questioning look and both Mother and Kylie look confused. I ignore them and walk out of the restaurant without uttering a word. "Cody!" Lee shouts from behind me, but I keep walking towards my car. "Can you slow down? You just left Mother and Kylie in there without saying anything." "Lee. This is more important." I state. "What is?" "That's irrelevant. So shut up and let's go. Unless you still want to have an awkward lunch with them." Lee heaves a defeated sigh and sits in the car. We pull out of the parking lot and drive to the apartment building. ***** The completely demolished apartment building has now turned into a crime scene. There are a lot of policemen securing the area, and people swarming the area, trying to find out what's going on. Parker walks up
Snow Hugging Mr Wells just felt right. When he pulled me in, I was a bit startled because he doesn't look like the touchy-feely type but I hugged him back and felt myself slowly calming down. I felt comfortable and safe in his arms. I wasn't sure why and I'm still not sure. It was soothing to be in his arms, I guess. I tried to ignore the emotions I felt the entire day. Sadness, anger, worry and frustration. Immediately I was left alone in the kitchen, I broke down in tears. I couldn't keep it in anymore. But when Mr Wells embraced me, it all went away. And I was glad it did. Mr Wells took me to my room and left me without saying a word. At least I was able to sleep without finding it difficult to do so like the nights before. I actually slept peacefully. So when I woke up this morning, I decided to do something to show Mr Wells that I appreciated what he did yesterday. But luck just wasn't on my side. After I got out of bed, I felt wet and sticky and smelly. The bed was stained w
Snow I wasn't sure if I wanted to return the phone and buy a new one or not. So as we drove to Mr Wells' office, I thought carefully about it. "Sir, I don't think I know your name and it wouldn't be nice if I kept calling you driver or sir all the time." I speak politely. "What's your name sir?" He smiles at me through the rearview mirror. "My name is Joseph Sawyer." He answers. "Okay. Mr Sawyer." "No Miss, I prefer you call me Joseph." "Then I also prefer you call me Lily...or Snow. You can call me any of them." We both share a laugh and I continue to ask him. "Do you think that it will be rude if I return the phone Mr Wells bought me?" "Lily...or Snow," He begins and I chuckle. "I've known Mr Wells for a while now and I know that he doesn't really like it when people refuse his offer, especially when he gives them no choice but to accept it." I scrunch up my face, "I'm sorry Joseph but I'm confused." "What I'm saying is that, I think it will be best if you just keep the phon
Snow "Hello you." She says and walks slowly towards me, like a predator that has cornered its prey and is about to pounce and devour it. Shit scared is what I'm feeling at the moment. This lady looks taller than me as she stands before me, eying me up and down like an item that needs to thrown into the garbage. I feel the need to run and hide but my feet are glued to where they are and won't budge. She is very intimidating. As we stare at each other and I look into those grey eyes, I slowly gain back my confidence. "Hi." I respond firmly. "Okay, back off Kylie." Lee says and stands between us. Kylie moves backwards as Lee pushes me behind him and Sam quietly walks out of the room. "Introduce me Lee." She calmly demands. “I don’t think I know this one.”"She doesn't need to know who you are. Just leave before Cody finds you here and becomes even more pissed than he already is." "Why? Because of her?" As she speaks, her eyes never leave mine. "Kylie, leave." She completely igno
