Snow
"I found a match." Detective Parker announces. "Ready to know who you are Miss Snow?" He asks me and I suddenly feel nervous."I'm ready. Detective." I say."Okay, Miss Snow." Detective parker starts and turns his computer monitor towards us. "Your name is Lily Jenkins."I inhale sharply as he mentions my name, trying to keep my emotions under control. I take in the image of myself on the screen. I had a smile on but it looked forced. And my hair was a little messy but I looked...okay in the picture."You're 22 years old and you're an investigative reporter," The detecive informs us and snickers. "but you suck at your job. You're unemployed, you have an online blog but not many views. Your parents died in a car crash on their way to your college graduation." He reads my profile out loud and I scowl at him.But my scowl was immediately replaced with a sad face. I have a miserable life. No parents, no job and a lame blog. My life is just sad. My chest felt like it was tightening up and I couldn’t breathe, when he mentioned the death of my parents.I look at Sam and find her looking back at me with a sympathetic look. I smile at her, letting her know that I'm okay. Cody on the other hand was glaring at the Detective, a cold look on his face. He was probably doing that because the detective read my profile with a harsh tone."Let me take a look at your social media profile and see if I can find out more. Maybe you'll remember something." Detecrive parkers says while turning the monitor screen towards him.I notice Cody gazing at me as if studying my expression. "Are you okay?" He asks me dully and I nod."Yeah. I'm fine." I say and look away, drowning myself in my thoughts. We sit quietly in silence until two men suddenly burst in, breathing heavily. Both of them are tall young men, probably in their early 20s but the difference is that one of them has long hair, blonde and is tied up in a bun. The other has short black hair, combed neatly. They both took my blood samples to test them and I guess they were here with results."Detective," The blonde one starts and pauses to catch his breath, his hand on his waist. The other placed his hand on his knee after they had burst in and hadn't look up. He was still trying to catch his breath."Detective, we...we...we found something." Says the blonde man, his breath now steady."I need to start working out." Mutters the black-haired man before straightening up."What did you find?" Sam finally speaks after staying silent. She hadn't spoken since she explained my case to the Detective. She looks more nervous than I am.The two men turn to us and the black-haired man starts talking. "Overdose of drug." He announces dramatically."Huh?" The Detective questions. Sam Cody and I are just as confused as he is.The blonde rolls his eyes playfully at his colleague. "What Tony means to say is that, Miss Jenkins overdosed on a drug called ZIP leading to her memory loss."I gasp. Why would I overdose? Was I a drug addict? That can't be. If I was, Detective Parker would've mentioned it."Zeta Interacting Protein, otherwise known as ZIP is a drug that is used to treat traumatised patients. It is used to erase selective memories that they don't want to remember." Tony continues."The keyword here is selective. But Miss Jenkins has lost all her memories. We suspect that she didn't do this to herself.""And why do you suspect that?" Cody asked, concerned."Miss Jenkins' entire system is flooded with this drug. This is similar to the case of Mr and Mrs Singh's daughter.""Yes I remember that case. Detective Jonas was the lead detective." Detecive Parker pipes in. "Are you saying that they're related? That someone did this to them? To Miss Snow?""That's exactly what we're saying Detective, although we’re not very sure about this." Tony confirms. On hearing this, I felt tears rolling down my cheeks. How could someone do this to me? What did I do to make them hurt me this way, erasing all my memories? What at all happened?I was so confused and scared and my emotions were out of control.Sam moves from her seat to comfort me when she spotted me crying."Parker. What exactly happened to the daughter you were talking about?" Cody asks."The Singh's daughter?" Parker asks. When Cody doesn't answer, he sighs before speaking. "She was kidnapped. We found the girl three weeks after the investigation commenced but she didn't remember anything. We caught one of the kidnappers but he poisoned himself with a drug before we could bring him in. We sent the kidnapper to the hospital and after they cleaned up his wound, they found out that his memories were also erased.""And nobody saw anything?" Sam asks from beside me."No. We couldn't find anything either." The detective answers. "Is there a possibility that Miss Snow will remember something?""Yes, she will. But it will take some time." The scientists answer."Thanks boys." He gestures towards the two men."Let's go Billy." Tony says to his blonde mate and they walk out of the office."Alright. We've got answers. Let's go." Cody announces, rising up from his seat.As we are about to do same, the detective stops us. “Wait."We stop and give him our attention."What is it?" Cody asks sternly."I just checked out Miss Snow's F******k page. You said you found her yesterday right?" Sam nods."At around 6:30 in the morning, Miss Snow posted something on her page. Something about finally going to solve a case that will hopefully take her career to the next level."Cody urged the detecive to continue after he paused. "What you 'went to solve' yesterday, leading to your memory loss, was probably dangerous. I'll advise you to stay with Mr Wells until we figure everything out. I'll look into your case. I also think it would be best to visit a therapist if you want to recover your memories. ""Thank you Detective." I manage to say."Sorry for what happened to you." The detective apologizes and I nod.We walk out of the room afterwards and head towards our car. As we walk, Sam comforts me. "It's good that we now know your identity now. Detective Parker is one of the best there is. He'll solve this case. Don't worry.""Thanks Sam." Although Cody is walking ahead of us, I can tell that he is listening to our conversation."So what do you prefer we call you?""I think I prefer Snow. My actual name reminds me of when Detective Parker implied how miserable my life was.""Don't mind him. He's just a very big jerk." Sam says to me and I give her a small smile. On our way home, I keep thinking about my past life and everything else I learned today. I mostly focus on my last post on F******k. What exactly was I supposed to solve yesterday? What exactly was I investigating? Was it that dangerous that I had to lose my memory because of it? I wish I get answers to my questions sooner. I don’t think I’ll ever stop thinking about it. I feel so uneasy.I am in the backseat with Sam. My hand is in hers and she's squeezing it soothingly to give me comfort. We all sit in the car in silence not saying a word. Everyone was probably overwhelmed by what we all discovered today.I suddenly feel like a burden to Cody when I remember Detecive Parker telling me to stay with Cody. He didn't seem too happy about it earlier.Suddenly, my head begins to throb painfully as a memory flashes through my mind. I grunt in pain but it only makes the headache worse.Cody must've been startled because I felt the car jerk to the side. With his usual scowl, he looks at me in the rearview mirror. "What the hell is going on back there?" He yells but I can't answer. I feel like someone is continously hitting my head with a metallic mallet."What's wrong?" Sam asks softly."I- I." I stutter as the intensity of the pain in head is reducing."You what?" She pries, her voice still calm. I notice Cody looking at me impatiently through the rearview mirror as he drives."I remembered something." I blurt out.Snow “So as I was saying,” I continue after, putting the phone on charge. “Carlos loves you and I’m pretty sure he’ll do anything to be with you.” Miranda gasps. “You really think so.” “I know so. Teenage love is easier to identify. So beautiful and tenderly, so kind.” I sigh dramatically and we both burst into laughter. “Ok. Now I’m starving. Let’s go and find the girls and then later, we have breakfast. If my stomach rumbles again, don’t let it surprise you when I head in the direction of the breakfast lounge.” Miranda giggles and we both head out. I ask her to try calling Daya before we went to her room in the hotel. Then we bump into Cody. Miranda gasps dramatically. We gaze at each other for a while before she walks away, still giggling. Then I turn to Cody and raise a brow at him. He smiles at me and pulls me back into a my room. “What are you doi-“ He covers my mouth before I’m able to finish my sentence. Then he smashes his lips on mine, kissing me with need. He swallows my
Snow The days went by quickly as we prepared towards the wedding. Everyone was present a week before the day of the wedding. My aunt and uncle, Andre, Cody and Lee, Serena and some other friends of Cody and I. Daya and the planner triple checked everything to make sure that the decorations, food, my wedding dress, Cody’s wedding tuxedo, invitations and everything else was on point. The guests had already started arriving. Cody and I were grateful to see those who could make it and we kept expecting more of our guests to arrive. Inwardly, I was very happy that Ruby was being helpful. Lee planned pre-wedding celebrations for Cody and I to have fun before the day of our wedding ceremony. Dave, Daya’s husband joined in on the fun. I had my bridal shower three days ago and it was lovely. I had lots of fun with my family and friends. Knowing Lee, it was wild as it was expected, but we didn’t mind. On the next day, there was rehearsal dinner. It also went on smoothly until Lee started firew
Cody “Serena, have you made reservations for lunch?” “I have, Mr. Wells. I wasn’t sure of what to do since Mrs. Wells isn’t here so I just made reservations for two.” “Can you cancel? And did you just call my fiancé Mrs. Wells?” I look up at her, a smile creeping on my lips. Serena smiles and nods. “Mr. Wells asked me to call her that since you’ll be married in the next two months. In his words, ‘It wouldn’t hurt to start calling her Mrs. Wells. Those two were practically married before Cody decided to make it official.’” I chuckle. “Lee said that?” “He did, Sir.” She answers. “Alright. Just cancel my plans for lunch. I’ll be spending my lunch break talking to Snow.” “Or instead of cancelling, Lee and I can go and have lunch together. Just the two of us. That isn’t a bad idea, right?” “Of course not. Not at all.” I wink at her, making her blush. She excuses herself and exits my office. Before I hired Serena as my assistant, she was a waiter at Duquette’s café. My secretary wh
Snow "We're here Daya." I say happily settling down on my bed in our hotel suite. "That's great. You're at the hotel right? "Yeah." "I'm sure you'll find Carlos wondering around with his grandmother. If you do, let him drive you to Marco's Pastry Place. But if not, let me know. I'm kind of busy here at the bakery so I'll see you when you get here." "You're busy this evening?" "Yeah. Dave's father is hosting a small party for his friends and I'm in charge of the food. I need to get everything done on time. Then we can hang out afterwards." "Sure, but which of his grandmothers is he here with?" I try to hide the panic in my voice. Daya laughs. "That'll be a surprise for you." "A cruel one if it's Ruby." She bursts into laughter again. "Alright. I'll see you and Miranda when you get here. Have fun." Then she hangs up. "Andy." I call out. "Yes Mom?" " I just called Daya. She said Carlos is around. You can call him if you want." "I've already done that, he'll be here any seco
Snow A year ago, we went on a vacation in London where we met with one of Cody’s old friends and his wife and children. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson are really nice people that welcomed us warmly. It was a very nice experience, spending a week with them. Not to mention that Miranda had a great time with their son Carlos who’s three years older than her. Though she hates to admit it, she did have a lot of fun in London and I’m certain Carlos and Miranda contact each other. Mrs. Daya Robinson, a renowned baker in London and one of the owners of Lena’s Bakery all around the country. She manages the bakeries with her brother, Marco Sanchez. Daya was very friendly and we got along so well. Especially after I found out that her mother was someone I’ve been trying to track for a long time and almost got killed by her but she let me go for unknown reasons. Ruby Crest, the black tigress, a very fierce woman. A mafia empressMr. Dave Robinson, the CEO of Robinson Industries. He’s such a handsome man
Snow “Miranda?” I knock on her door. “Can I come in?” I ask softly. The door opens and Miranda looks up at me. “You can come in.” She opens the doors wider and lets me in. I walk to her desk and have a seat on her chair. “Is there anything I can help you with, Mom?” “I wanted to talk to you.” “Come have a seat on the bed with me. It’s good that you brought this up.” I look at her with furrowed brows. “It is?” I ask her and she nods. I sit beside her on the bed, kicking off my shoes and crossing my legs so that I’m sitting opposite her in the same position. She urges me to speak and I continue but then I ask her, “what is it that you think I’m bringing up here? I want to be sure that we’re on the same page here.” “Aren’t you here to talk about us? You and I?” She waves her finger between us. “I am.” “Let me apologize first. I’ve always wanted to but I didn’t know how to bring it up.” “Don’t worry about that Miranda.” “No. I want to apologize for my attitude towards you. I’m r
