"Jane, come over here quick. I can't find the woman we brought to my house anywhere.""My name is Sam." She groans before continuing. "Are you sure she's gone? Have you looked everywhere?""Of course I have." I yell into the phone and exhale deeply. I change my tone to a more calm one. "I have looked everywhere Miranda. I can't find her. What if she's just hiding somewhere stealing my stuff and I can't find her because she's a thief who's good at her job?""Miranda is my daughter's name." She groans again. I really love to annoy Sam by calling her different names and pretending to forget her name everytime."How is she a thief if we found her lying in a dumpster naked and vulnerable? What exactly is wrong with you thinking like that?" I open move my lips to answer but Sam interrupts me, making me frown. "Look. I'm coming. I'll ask Miss Anderson to take care of everything. It looks like we won't be spending our entire day in the office today." She grumbles the last part and ends the call.I walk out of the living room, through the corridor and into the guestroom. At the same time as I am entering the room, the lady is also walking out of the bathroom. There is a look of panic and confusion on her face but I ignore it since I'm annoyed at how she disappeared ten minutes ago and is now suddenly appearing."Where the hell were you? I thought you were gone or walking around my house. I looked everywhere for you but you disappeared into thin air and now you're here." I speak with a tone of annoyance. She slowly sits down on the bed and looks up at me. "I was in this room." She points to the bathroom on the left side of the room. I raised an eyebrow at her, almost finding it funny that she couldn't just say she was in the bathroom.I sigh and look away from her, running my fingers through my neatly combed hair. Then I turn back to look at her."What's your name Miss? We have to get you back to your family or whoever you live with." I gaze at her, slightly glaring."I don't know." She says quietly and I raise my brows in concern and shock. Then I frown. I am not in the mood for games, especially with a stranger."What do you mean you don't know? How can you not know your name?"She stays quiet for a minute before responding. "That's because I don't know." She replies, a bit louder this time. "I can't remember anything. Anything!"I stare at her. I'm still not sure whether she's joking or serious."I don't know who I am, or anything else about me. I don't even recognise myself when I look in the...the.....the mirror." She spoke and suddenly burst into tears.I was taken aback by her sudden actions. Not knowing what to do to her, I walk to the kitchen to get myself a cold glass of water.Sam bursts into my living room, panting and out of breath. I hand her a glass of water as she throws herself on my furniture to catch her breath. She quickly gulps down the water and shoves the glass back into my hand."Okay. I'm here now. Have you found her?" I nod. "Where is she?" Sam stands up to walk to her room but I stop her and sit her down."She's in her room. But we have a little problem." Sam frowns and I explain. "She claims she doesn't remember anything. She doesn't know who she is or anything about herself. She doesn't even recognise herself. And she's crying."Sam's eyes widen. "What? Then we have to do something about this situation." She tells me with urgency in her voice."What exactly do we have to do about this?" I ask with a frown. "How do we make her suddenly remember everything?”"We have to do something at least.""Like what?" I roll my eyes and my assistant stays silent. She lightly taps her temple, something she does when she's thinking."We'll deal with that later. Right now, let's just make sure she calms down and gets something to eat." Says Sam. She stands up and walks into the kitchen. She heats the woman's breakfast for her in the microwave and pours her a cold glass of orange juice.I watch Sam plate up the lady's breakfast for her, put them on a tray and exits the kitchen, walking in the direction of the woman's room."So what do we call her for the meantime?" Sam asks me as we walk and I raise my brow."Why do I have to name her? She probably already has a name and once she remembers it, what we name her won't matter anymore.""But it's not like she's going to remember her name now. So you're going to give her a name since you have to." Sam tells me boldly. I hate when she speaks to me like an authoritative figure and since she also knows that, she likes to speak to me that way sometimes when she needs me to do something."How about Snow?" I respond quickly. I certainly wasn't going to waste my energy thinking of what name to give her.Sam shakes her head and sighs. "We'll stick with that."We hear sobs as we near the guestroom. Snow is still crying. When she hears us walk in, she looks up at us.Sam gives her a friendly smile and walks slowly towards her while I stand at the threshold of the bedroom."Hi. I'm Sam, Cody's friend and I made you breakfast." Snow looks at Sam with fear and panic in her eyes. Her features then turn soft when she sees the food on the tray. She must be very hungry."Who's Cody?" She asks softly. Sam looks at me in disbelief and I shrug. She was probably expecting me to introduce myself to Snow."That's Cody." Sam points at me. "I've been informed that you don't recall anything?"Snow nods. Sam slightly pushes the tray to Snow and sits beside her on the bed."We're going to help you out. We're your friends now so you don't have to worry about anything." Sam assures her and I stare at her sternly. She stares back at me, challenging me with her eyes. "We promise you that we're going to help you remember."Snow looks at Sam hopefully. "Really? You promise?""Yes, we promise." Sam replies.I walk out of there to the living room in anger.Cody As I walk into the living room, I notice Sam walking after me. "Cody." She calls but I don't respond. "Cody!" "What?" I snap. "Why did you promise to her that we're going to help her? I don't want any part of this." Sam stares at me pointedly. "We brought her here to your house and therefore we must help her. She needs help." "Can't we just hand her over to the police and make her not our problem anymore?" I argue and Sam's eyes widen. "Cody! We are going to help her whether you like it or not. And that's final." She then grabs my shoulders. "Promise me you're going to help her." I look away and she shakes me lightly. I direct my gaze back to her. "Cody, I want you to promise me that you're going to help Snow." I sigh, not liking the idea. "I promise." Sam smiles. "What you said earlier was a very good idea though." She says. "You mean handing her over to the police? I thought you weren't happy with that idea." I frown at her. "Of course we're not going to just hand Sno
Snow"I found a match." Detective Parker announces. "Ready to know who you are Miss Snow?" He asks me and I suddenly feel nervous."I'm ready. Detective." I say."Okay, Miss Snow." Detective parker starts and turns his computer monitor towards us. "Your name is Lily Jenkins."I inhale sharply as he mentions my name, trying to keep my emotions under control. I take in the image of myself on the screen. I had a smile on but it looked forced. And my hair was a little messy but I looked...okay in the picture. "You're 22 years old and you're an investigative reporter," The detecive informs us and snickers. "but you suck at your job. You're unemployed, you have an online blog but not many views. Your parents died in a car crash on their way to your college graduation." He reads my profile out loud and I scowl at him. But my scowl was immediately replaced with a sad face. I have a miserable life. No parents, no job and a lame blog. My life is just sad. My chest felt like it was tightening u
Cody"I remembered something." Snow says softly. "But I have a headache.""You remembered something. What did you remember?" Sam inquires.I half smile and then frown, remembering that she'll be seeing a doctor to run some tests on her and therapist to help her recover her memories. Snow will be owing me a lot.I speed up, wanting to reach home early."I remembered posting my last F******k post." Snow narrates and I pay attention to both her and the road . "I was sitting behind my computer, typing something. I remember that that was after I posted that message on F******k. But I couldn't make out what I was working on behind my computer.""Well, it's better than nothing I guess." Sam lets out a small smile, trying to cheer Snow up. "It's baby steps. You don't have to stress too much about remembering yout past life. It will all come to you." She says."Thanks Sam." We finally arrive at my house and I drive through the automatic gates to the garage. Sam, Snow and I quickly walk into th
Snow Sam and I sit in the consulting room for about an hour before the doctor comes in with the test results. “From our results, the ZIP drug is in every system in your body. It’s not harmful at all so don’t be worried.” The doctor says as he sits down behind his desk. “It’ll slowly leave your body as you recover your memories ." "When will that be?" Sam asks "Well you said that you remembered something yesterday right?" I nod and he continues, "It depends. I can't really say when it'll be completely out of your system. But in the meantime you can see a therapist to help you recover your memories. You also have to be very active too to speed up the process." "Okay." I say with a small smile, not really knowing how to respond to this. "Here's Doctor Stella Gates' card. Call her for an appointment and let her know that I recommended her to you. She's a really busy woman but she'll make time for you when she knows that I recommended her." The doctor hands me a business card and I ta
Cody "Have a minute to spare?" Lee asks, peeking his head through my office door. "Come in." I answer and he enters. "Where's Sam?" "She's running an errand for me." "With a lady? Who's she?" Lee asks with interest, sitting on one of the chairs in front of my desks. I groan inwardly. "How do you know about her?" "So you do have a new girl! Finally." He grinned. "Kylie asked me about her the other day." "How does Kylie know about her?" He shrugs. "Beats me. I didn't ask because I didn't believe her. What's her name?" "Is that what you came here to talk about?" I frown. "No and yes." He nods. "No?" "Mother called me this morning, saying she wanted to meet us three." He suddenly grew serious. "Why does she want to meet the three of us?" My frown grows deeper. "I have no idea but I also don't want to go." I nod slowly, growing more and more angry at the sound of meeting Mother and my sister. "But she said it's urgent." I relax in my seat and rub my temples to calm myself do
Cody After calling Sam and telling her about the explosion at Snow's apartment, I quickly rush out of the men's room. "Lee, we're leaving." I call him. I don't give them time to comprehend what I just said. Lee gives me a questioning look and both Mother and Kylie look confused. I ignore them and walk out of the restaurant without uttering a word. "Cody!" Lee shouts from behind me, but I keep walking towards my car. "Can you slow down? You just left Mother and Kylie in there without saying anything." "Lee. This is more important." I state. "What is?" "That's irrelevant. So shut up and let's go. Unless you still want to have an awkward lunch with them." Lee heaves a defeated sigh and sits in the car. We pull out of the parking lot and drive to the apartment building. ***** The completely demolished apartment building has now turned into a crime scene. There are a lot of policemen securing the area, and people swarming the area, trying to find out what's going on. Parker walks up
Snow Hugging Mr Wells just felt right. When he pulled me in, I was a bit startled because he doesn't look like the touchy-feely type but I hugged him back and felt myself slowly calming down. I felt comfortable and safe in his arms. I wasn't sure why and I'm still not sure. It was soothing to be in his arms, I guess. I tried to ignore the emotions I felt the entire day. Sadness, anger, worry and frustration. Immediately I was left alone in the kitchen, I broke down in tears. I couldn't keep it in anymore. But when Mr Wells embraced me, it all went away. And I was glad it did. Mr Wells took me to my room and left me without saying a word. At least I was able to sleep without finding it difficult to do so like the nights before. I actually slept peacefully. So when I woke up this morning, I decided to do something to show Mr Wells that I appreciated what he did yesterday. But luck just wasn't on my side. After I got out of bed, I felt wet and sticky and smelly. The bed was stained w
Snow I wasn't sure if I wanted to return the phone and buy a new one or not. So as we drove to Mr Wells' office, I thought carefully about it. "Sir, I don't think I know your name and it wouldn't be nice if I kept calling you driver or sir all the time." I speak politely. "What's your name sir?" He smiles at me through the rearview mirror. "My name is Joseph Sawyer." He answers. "Okay. Mr Sawyer." "No Miss, I prefer you call me Joseph." "Then I also prefer you call me Lily...or Snow. You can call me any of them." We both share a laugh and I continue to ask him. "Do you think that it will be rude if I return the phone Mr Wells bought me?" "Lily...or Snow," He begins and I chuckle. "I've known Mr Wells for a while now and I know that he doesn't really like it when people refuse his offer, especially when he gives them no choice but to accept it." I scrunch up my face, "I'm sorry Joseph but I'm confused." "What I'm saying is that, I think it will be best if you just keep the phon
