CHAPTER SEVEN- THE KISS
A growl escaped Killian’s lips as he closed in on the couple obliviously dancing to the sound of the lively music.
“Kendra!”
Well, he’ll be damned.
Of all the wolves present at the gathering that his Beta could have danced with, she had to go and pick the one that he hated most,
Tyrone Riverdale.
Alpha of the Riverdale Pack, who took great delight in causing mischief and encouraging excessive violence among his wolves.
His Beta had the decency to look like a cat that had been caught trying to swallow the family mouse, with her wide eyes and lace-masked face.
Good. He’ll deal with her later.
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t Killian Silvercrest.” Tyrone boomed, his voice taunting as he held on to a frozen Kendra. “You know, I was wondering when you were going to show up, since you somehow always manage to keep your Beta on such a short leash.”
They stared each other down, the action causing Kendra to roll her eyes.
The testosterone easing from them in waves could stifle her!
The two wolves detested each other with a passion—oh yes, it was very much a mutual feeling—
They had always been that way, even when they were just wee pups.
They had both wanted to be the best… bugged their parents to get them the best things, trained hard to be the best in sparring, then in learning and everything associated with that.
Then as they got older, their interests had shifted to female wolves, and that was when Killian’s condition was discovered and the curse had finally been understood in its full sense.
Undoubtedly, Tyrone had won in that aspect, but he soon got tired of the feeling… especially when Killian’s brother and sister, Adrian and Antigone had been claimed by the curse and he had become Alpha.
“Fuck off, Tyrone.” Killian muttered in irritation, his attention shifting to his beta. “Kendra, come along now… I’m afraid we have important pack matters to discuss.”
“Can’t you do this another time, Killian?” Tyrone asked tauntingly. “Everyone knows that no one talks business during these balls.”
“No one fucking asked you, Tyrone.” Killian roared. “My pack, my rules… so fucking stay out of this!” He made to reach for his Beta’s hand, but she pulled away, not wanting to go anywhere with him.
He had avoided her for what, a whole week, and he now wanted to talk?
Well too little, too fucking late!
“Sorry, Alpha… but can’t it wait?”
A part of her wanted to lash out at him for ignoring her for so long, and seeing the surprised, stupefied look on his face at her remark, a chill of satisfaction made its way into her chest, warming her all over. “I’m afraid I’m actually having fun for the first time in a very long time.”
Beside her, Tyrone snickered, the action infuriating an already pissed Killian even further. Seeing Kendra stand there with his worst enemy… looking like fucking Couple of the year was seriously doing something to his insides.
He couldn’t really explain it.
His wolf wanted to so badly tear off that arm that had secured itself around his Beta’s waist, but he controlled the beast.
He was going to do this in a calm and collected manner.
This time his entire body oozed with Alpha power as he spoke. “It wasn’t exactly a suggestion, Beta. You’re coming with me. Now.” As if he didn’t trust his own power, he reached for her arm and dragged her along despite her protests, their struggle causing quite a scene as he led her through the crowd, and then up the stairs, and into one of the many rooms on the first floor, banging it shut.
“WHAT THE FUCK, KILLIAN?” Kendra hissed, very furious. Her eyes had turned cerulean, hinting at how close she was to shifting.
She couldn’t believe his nerve!
“Do you have any idea how difficult it is to gain respect as a she-wolf in a position of power? I have to work twice as hard to be taken seriously, I barely have a social life as a result of that, and you just erase all of that work with one stupid move that could have easily been avoided!”
Killian was just as angry. “Why the fuck were you dancing with him?”
Kendra scoffed, an incredulous look gracing her features. Her intricate chignon was slowly coming undone due to Killian’s manhandling and the way she had fought back.
It all made sense now.
“Is that why you dragged me here? It’s honestly none of your fucking business!” She walked away from him and into the room, her ball gown swishing about her indignantly. “So, there’s no important pack business?”
“There is, but that can wait. Answer my question, Kendra… why in the fuck were you dancing with Tyrone?” Came his irritated answer.
“You don’t get to ask me that, Killian!” The she-wolf lashed out angrily, her tiny hand poking him in the chest. “You don’t get to avoid me for a whole week gallivanting around with your little Miss Perfect, and then barge in demanding to know why I’m having fun when you fucking feel like it!” She brushed past him and headed for the door, not even bothering to look back, “You have been okay avoiding me for a whole week, let’s fucking stick to the new programme.” Kendra made to reach for the door knob, but the angry Alpha reached for her arm, pulling her to him and tugging her close.
His lips closed in on hers before she could even make sense of what was happening.
Push him away!
Slap him, Kendra… fucking do something!
Her subconscious was screaming its lungs out, but oh, Kendra was completely oblivious.
She was finally kissing Killian Silvercrest— something she had wanted to do ever since she discovered that she just might have a teeny crush on him— she’ll be damned if she didn’t take advantage of the fucking opportunity.
Who knew, she just might get it completely out of her system!
And so she kissed him like her life depended on it, her fingers winding their way into his hair, tugging… pulling.
She didn’t dare open her eyes, or reach for his face, scared that the least mistake on her part would ruin the moment.
Kendra felt his lips slowly tear away from hers.
Hell, they had been kissing for so long, it was definitely sensible to part and catch breaths.
Her own deep breaths slowly turned into shaky pants as his lips made its way down her neck to her cleavage and just like that her eyes fluttered open.
It shocked the she-wolf to find the Alpha unaffected by the pleasureful session, but it made sense knowing what she knew about him.
His hands brazenly sought out her medium sized perky mounds, and he squeezed curiously, a gasp escaping her lips at the sudden ministration, and the Alpha chuckled. “I’ve always wondered how doing this would feel like for you, Ken… always wondered if you’d quiver under my touch as I move heaven and earth to pleasure you. You have no idea how long I have waited for this moment.”
He was still as hideous as before, but it seemed as though the haze of pleasure had blinded Kendra from the monstrosity that was his face.
She wanted… more!
It was like someone had doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. She was burning up, but oh, this was a burn that she welcomed wholeheartedly.
She wanted it to-to consume her completely!
Kendra’s hands unconsciously tugged at the Alpha’s head, tugging it down to a covered nipple, the silent command loudly clear…
She wanted to feel his lips on her.
Killian chuckled, tsking softly, “So impatient,”
He made to tug her dress down, but there was a large thud at the door. The sound made them pull apart, the steamy moment ruined once more.
Killian leaned against the wall beside the door, his monstrous features slowly morphing back to normal now that there was no action. He smirked as he watched his Beta fix herself, her lips swollen from the force of his kisses.
He had never felt so fucking accomplished.
He reached for the door and opened it when she was finally presentable, everyone so serious that it was almost as though the last ten minutes had never happened.
Almost.
“What is it?” Killian barked harshly at the pack warrior who had dared to interrupt his ‘meeting’ with his Beta.
“It’s the Curers, Alpha,” Came the anxious reply, “They’ve managed to breach the Pack Borders!”
CHAPTER 8- The Ultimate SacrificeKillian didn’t even make it out of the building when he shifted into his wolf form, the action causing his clothes to tear into mere rags, into shreds. He dashed off, heading into the forests, a shortcut that would take him straight to the pack borders.Back at the grand hall, Kendra was cursing the Alpha,In her head, of course. She had barely managed to bark the words Wait, we need to plan first, when the infuriating beast had burst out of the grand hall, heading for the borders.Kendra knew how important the pack was to the Alpha… he was as possessive of it as a mother wolf was of her cubs, but he didn’t know how many of the curers were out there, and granted… he was a very powerful wolf, but a few Silver weapons too many, and he would be just like a normal human being— completely mortal and at the mercy of the evil humans. Now a l
CHAPTER 9- THIS WAS GOING TO HAVE TO DO “Any changes, Maymunah?” Kendra asked for the umpteenth time as she observed the comatose Alpha. “Still nothing, child.” The Oracle confirmed. “Honestly speaking, it’s a miracle he’s still alive, Kendra. No wolf should be breathing after having that much silver in their system.” If it was a miracle, why wasn’t the brute fucking awakening then? Kendra didn’t ask the Oracle this though. She already knew what the answer was going to be. Only the Gods knew why. At this point, and with everything that had been going on, Kendra wasn’t even sure she believed in them anymore, but for the sake of her best friend, she prayed to all of them… Zeus, Poseidon, Hermes, Athena… she prayed to whoever cared to listen to save her friend who was simply put, nothing but a pure heart. It had already been three days. Three days since their clash
CHAPTER 10- Wet Killian was trying to work out, but he couldn’t concentrate. What in the fuck had he gotten himself into? He couldn’t really explain it, but it was like now that he had gotten a taste of Kendra… gotten a taste of her lips, of her skin, he just couldn’t seem to stop himself and his thoughts. He wanted more! But that did not even make any sense. He had never felt that way with anyone, not even Artemis whose company he was growing to appreciate more and more each day, the feelings just… confused him. Was he feeling this way because inwardly, she was the one he wanted to be with? Or was it because he was afraid that she would find her love in the arms of another man from another pack and leave him all alone? At this point, he didn’t know anymore… and he didn’t care. All he knew was that he was a very stubborn man, and that he was goi
Chapter 11- Tyrone RiverdaleKendra Sullivan was in the pack gardens, tending to a patch of vibrant, red roses. It was one of the little things she loved to do when she wasn’t playing Beta, or taking her wolf for a run, or sparring, or drawing…Yeah, the she-wolf was quite talented. It was early morn, that time of day where the sun was out, but not too hot or shiny. It really was a beautiful day to be out.Kendra felt at peace in that moment, it was a much welcome respite after being so tense for days. She had spent the whole week avoiding Killian, because after his recovery, it became apparent that the very air they both breathed was charged with some indescribable force. The Alpha wanted to talk about the kiss, but she surprisingly didn’t, because she had a hunch as to what he was going to say.And she wasn’t sure it was going to be something that would make her heart flutter with
Chapter 12- Sheer will For the whole period of the council meeting, Killian did not say a single word to Kendra. Everything he wanted to say that required him addressing her, he threw to their gamma, Miguel, instead. He had seen how much that had unnerved her, but he literally didn’t care. It wasn’t like she had cared about his feelings when she had turned up late to the meeting with his worst enemy anyway. By the time the meeting had ended, Killian was a complete thinking mess. Was Tyrone courting his Beta? It seemed like the only logical explanation… the only reason why they were suddenly spending so much time together. But if that were so, why hadn’t Kendra told him about it? Of course she knows you’re going to blow your fucking fuse, you arrogant brute! His conscience mocked darkly, but he brushed the thoughts aside. He didn’t care. Kendra could do wha
Chapter 13- SpentAnd then she was spent.Kendra’s eyes fluttered close and she sunk into the bathtub to shield her body from her friend’s watchful gaze, horror seeping into her veins as she struggled to comprehend what had just happened and the implications it was going to have on their lives and their relationship. The female-Beta took a deep breath and stepped out of the tub, pretending not to care that the Alpha could see her… all of her. It was the only thing she could think of to grasp onto the remaining thin ropes that were holding their relationship together. She brushed past him nonchalantly and reached for her robe to cover her nakedness, and then turned to him when she was fully dressed. “What are you doing here?”Killian just didn’t understand. How was she so cool and unconcerned about what had just happened? He was literally struggling to come to terms with it&
Chapter 14- Seeking AnswersLove. Now Killian just had to laugh at that.As much as that would have been a very wonderful piece of news, it was unfortunately not true. There was no way he was in love with Kendra. No literally, there was no way.He had been cursed. Or had everyone suddenly forgotten about that?“You seem to have forgotten that I’m still cursed—”“No, I know that… but think about it, man…” Tyrone cut him off excitedly, “Until yesterday, you thought you were impotent… hell, we all thought you were. Honestly speaking, I’d wager everything I have if it came down to it, but I think you’re slowly breaking all the other aspects of the curse, Killian.”Killian pondered over the blonde Alpha’s words…Could he be telling the truth? And if he was, what did that mean for him?
Chapter 15- The grand revelation The two wolves had barely made it to the entrance of Maymunah’s wing when the grand door opened with a sudden surge, a strong gust of wind being the apparent cause. The two shared a knowing look. Damn Maymunah and her sometimes annoying love for theatrics. “Ah, I was just about to send for you guys,” She croaked, moving about more swiftly than usual. “Wait, you didn’t send for us?” Kendra asked in puzzlement. “No, child. Killian just wanted Alpha Riverdale gone.” Came the oracle’s answer. Kendra shot the Alpha a silent glare at that, but thankfully, she didn’t say anything. Maymunah’s outer chamber was like something out of a fairytale storybook. That typical witch’s parlor with floor to ceiling shelves stuffed with all kinds of books, and potions, and cauldrons upon cauldrons… but somehow the room was also surprisingly neat and tidy. “Looks like s
