Chapter 78: Moving Forward

We sat in silence for a while, until I ended up dozing off in his arms. It wasn’t until I heard the voice of the Alpha King, that I woke up.

“I have calmed her down. I think this would be a good chance for the two of you to talk. The loss of her mate is causing her to struggle with her sanity.”

Sitting up, I realized that Ryker had fallen asleep as well. Leaning to press a kiss on his cheek, I whispered into his ear. “I am going to talk to my mother.”

He groaned and nodded his head, but kept his eyes closed. I imagine he was exhausted. Seeing him like this reminded me of how much work he has been doing lately. Hopefully, we can get this cure distributed soon so he can finally relax.

Moving from the couch, I headed outside. I already knew that my mother went home. I wondered if the Alpha King was right about my mother. I did notice she became worse after my father died, but it was hard to tell.
