63. Revenge

“You’re so mean to me! It’s not like I wanted to get raped!” She cried and hid her face under her hands.

He felt bad now. He was just angry with himself that she got hurt and didn’t mean to upset her.

Shadow got up and hugged her.

“I’m sorry, my flower. I shouldn’t have taken out my anger on you.” He told her. “I was just so afraid of what was going to happen if I didn’t make it in time.”

She hugged him and cried against his chest.

“I was so afraid that he was…” she couldn’t complete her sentence and just cried.

He understood what she wanted to say.

“If he did, I would’ve ripped him to shreds.” He told her.

He stayed like this for a while and when he heard the police sirens in the distance; he went away because he wouldn’t be able to explain how he got here.

The police arrest James who was still knocked out on the ground. They took Lillian’s statement and then sent her to the hospital.
