[BOOK 2: SHORT STORY] Chapter 1

“Dad… I‘m almost an 800-year-old vampire and you want me to go to high school?” Zack whined, not happy with his decision.

“You’re going to school from tomorrow and that’s final.” Alan told him firmly.

“Fine, then I’ll leave and never come back.” He told his father.

“Okay. Leave your credit cards and keys here before you go.” Alan told him.

“Not fair.” He whined with a scowl on his face.

“I made that money.” Alan told him.

“And I did as well.” He reminded.

“I raised you, fed you and gave you a loving home to live in.” Alan told him.

“And I’m your son.” He protested.

“Yeah, not going to work, son. I want you to get out and meet new people and make some friends.” Alan told him.

“What’s the point of making friends with humans when they are going to die in a few years?” He asked in annoyance.

“It’s better than shutting yourself in a room and brooding all day. And who knows? You might even find a special someone.” Alan winked at him.

Zack sight and pinched the bridge of his nose.
