Chapter Fourteen

Soralina returned from school, having had had a lovely day with her friends as they tried their best to cheer her up. She was late to home, for they had gone to an amusement park, rode the merry-go-round because it was the least dangerous and had the sweetest cotton candy ever.

They had taken plenty of photos, and a lot of other people took with them too, because of their unnatural set of hair colours that made them look like the fucking rainbow.

Yup. Definitely a great day.

Soralina hummed all the way to her room, feeling excited for no real reason. Nothing awful had happened today, and she was liking the day so far.

Lucian had brought her macaroons that morning as a means to cheer her up as well. Soralina felt content. Everyone had been trying their best to cheer her up, so why shouldn't she give them the satisfaction that their hard work worked?

The only dark cloud she had over her head was Morris funeral. It was today, but she wouldn't attend. Gustav's orders.
