Some Marquises were against the king's decision of marrying the daughter of the traitor country of Lestinna. But, the greatest opposition to the marriage comes from the queen herself. She strongly refused to accept Viishaun's proposal and always sneaked out to her room, but she couldn't get away from the palace because the wall was high and impossible to climb up, thus the only means to leave was through the three gates guarded by Marquises.
She has a lot of reasons why getting married to the king should be refused, such as; in her world, the 'Aileen' was already engaged to a fellow actor Flame Stephan Alvourde. One more thing, it's because he was 'King Viishaun Argus Allandis XVII', a killer king of Allandis slays and conquers bordering countries through the emperor’s order. He was a man who was born with wealth, prestige, and merciless-combat prowess.
She blinked and fidgeted at the thought of having her neck detached from her. "He was the scary man who suddenly proposed to me," she said to herself while staring at the huge diamond ring on her ring finger. The ring was just one of the things bought for her, and it's funny how the king gave Aileen everything...
… Five months ago, when she was still not the queen, Aileen always woke up bombarded by presents from the king. Viishaun sent her dozen carriages with various gifts: Jewelry, gems, flowers, and gowns.
What forced her to marry the king back then was when the secretary barged into her chamber, yelling and pleading with words, "Queen! We beg you to help us. The king was refusing to eat for two weeks, and he refused to do his obligation to the kingdom."
"Why should I help him? His life has nothing to do with me. Moreover, I'm not this kingdom's queen," Aileen replied, burying her face in her hands.
"If the King loses his mind, then the kingdom might collapse. Who knows what those barbaric neighboring empires would do... we might be conquered by them; killed or sold as slaves?" says the secretary, bursting with water coming from his eyes.
Aileen jolted and feared for her safety. She's afraid to die in this world because it could mean her soul could not return to her real body, thus she would need to stay alive until she finds out how to safely leave the Allandis empire.
"What do you want me to do?" Aileen asked, almost crying with her situation too.
"Be his official Queen, Madam."
"King Viishaun is here!"
Aileen panicked and ran outside her chamber, but the moment she opened the door, she found the king kneeling on the carpeted floor, and around him were six marquises crossing their swords above his crown.
"W-What the hell?!?!"
"Greetings, my future queen." The king extended his arm to give a bouquet to Aileen.
Aileen has a soft heart, and despite the memory of the fierce king who pointed a sword at her, she still pities the king who has gotten thinner and paler.
'Don't tell me, he really deprived himself of eating simply because I kept refusing him?' she asked herself while looking at the king who had not yet changed position.
"Please stay with me and be my queen for a lifetime. I promise not to have concubines because one Szcheriziel is more than enough for me."
Aileen sighed and contemplated; If the king would go insane or die, and this kingdom would collapse... what would happen to the commoners and the servants? She closed her eyes and pictured the blood and the bodies massacred in the Lestinna dukedom when her soul fell into an aristocrat lady Szcheriziel.
"Y-Yes, I accept your proposal. Let's get married, your excellency."
The preparation only took three weeks, and no invitation was spread to other families because it was the lady’s wish, which the king blindly followed. The matrimony happened so fast that only the servant and highest priest are the only witness of the actual ceremony, but they are not allowed to spread the word outside without the consent of the royal couple.
Aileen was thankful that the empress, emperor, and the first prince were on vacation at the northern ice border of the empire, thus they failed to attend the wedding that happened in Viishaun's palace.
According to the conservative custom of marriage in the empire, the bride is not allowed to reveal their face to the public before becoming one in body and soul, which means the bride can only show herself in public after sharing a bed with their husband, except those who have been serving her because it is inevitable.
Aileen was covered with a sparkling veil to hide her face from the Orthodox temple Priest, who had blessed their union. Although no one had seen what the queen looked like, their love story was passed across the empire.
After reminiscing how crazy her life went over the past months, Aileen rested her back on the mattress, where she was seated alone inside the carriage because the servant was seated at the back of the carriage, a place where stuff is placed.
"Come to think of it, this empire has religion, but how are they not condemning bloodshed? Is the Orthodox church afraid of the emperor?"
Before she could think of an answer to her query, the carriage had stopped moving. Then a knock followed, along with a voice saying, "Madam, we had arrived."
Someone opened the carriage and escorted the queen descending from the vehicle.
'Damn this long gown! It's hard to move to wear this outfit. In my world, I could have worn pants and sleeveless wherever I go,' says a little voice in her mind.
"Madam, where should we head first?"
"Wait, stop right there. Give me a break from that 'madam'— thingy. Just call me Lady S."
"My apologies for getting on your nerves, Lady S."
'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHh! This is actually frustrating. Why are these people so diligent and formal? I can't stand this huhuhuhuh'— she could have screamed those words if only it wouldn't draw attention.
"Do you know a place that sells books?"
"Book? Do you like books, Q— I mean lady?"
Aileen looked away and replied, "Y-Yes."
She couldn't tell them what she was looking for was a book that talks about magic or spells.
They had been to three bookstores in the town, but she couldn't find anything related to magic, sorcery, or whatever they called it in Allandis, and it made her wonder why such a thing had no traces."Gosh! If I have a cellphone, and if only this place has an internet connection, then browsing would have been easy," Aileen muttered, and the two people with her were perplexed after hearing her statement."Lady, it's almost sunset. His excellency must have been waiting for you at the palace," says the marquise through whispering in her ears."I guess. I'll come back tomorrow. Let's head back to the palace now," she replied in a voice just enough for the three of them to hear.Inside the carriage, the queen
"What did you do to me?" Viishaun asked in a cold-baritone voice, wearing a gaze that could shred the queen into pieces. The queen was frightened, and her body started trembling. He wears the same cold expression when they first meet. He has that aura of ice-cold thirst for blood."Are you going to answer me, or do you want me to cut off your tongue and be silent forever?!?!"Her voice won't come out because she wasn't sure what to say. She was too terrified, and it was more terrifying than a fellow actress bullying her. Aileen started weeping, and to her surprise, the king's expression shifted to a soft one.He reached her hand and held it, then asked, "My queen, why are you crying? Are you alright? Did I hurt you?
"Greetings lady with shiny gold hair," says the guy who looks like a charming prince from a fictional book. The guy has red hair and brown eyes, quite different from the empire's trade look. Most people of Allandis have an innate sparkling ray of sunlight hair. "M-Me?" Aileen asked. She blinked her eyes twice while pointing at her chest. Then the guy smiled and presented her with a hat. 'Oh, he must have caught it accidentally.' "Is this hat yours, my lady?" "Y-yes. Yes, that is mine." Instead of simply passing the object to her palm, the guy placed it on Aileen's head. "T-thank you." "No big deal, my lady. Are you heading inside?" The guy asked, wearing a sweet smile on his face. Aileen thought at the time; it would be no good if she would see him in the future. He reminds her of someone with a sly smile from her showbiz industry. Moreover, she doesn't know who to trust in this strange world. "Oh! I forgot, I had something important to do at my manor, right?" Aileen glance
"Have you heard about the witch forest?" Aileen asked while looking at the overview of the mountain visible from the top of the palace."Hmmm... they are pretty famous for being the house of a sorcerer who cursed the empire fifteen years ago."Aileen was surprised to hear that the empire was cursed. She really has no idea what is happening in this land.'What am I supposed to do here? What if I'm a hero in this land?'Aileen laughed with the absurd idea her mind bore and thought she probably had too much doze of drama she had filmed."What actually happened back then?" Aileen asked out of curiosity.
Aileen was staring at her reflection in the human-sized mirror. She could not help but ask the woman. "Lady Szcheriziel, are you perhaps a sorcerer?"She heaved a heavy breath and accepted that the lady would not answer. Aileen wondered where the heck the soul of this aristocrat lady went to.The queen left her chamber. As usual, the servants bowed their heads and greeted her. Then she told them, "Please don't enter the library without my acknowledgement. I want to read alone.""Yes, madam. Please call us if you need something."She locked the door and started browsing the books. "This may be a fictional story, but who knows if the spell written on the book would work. I need to try at least," Aileen mut
"I won't let you in until you really are Shaun!" The queen yelled, and everyone thought the couple were quarreling. The servants are wishing the two would reconcile sooner because they were afraid that their king would be back from being the cold and intimidating guy. Their madam had softened thy king."What do you mean? I am your Shaun. My beloved, it's me."All of a sudden, the king stopped knocking and started screaming in excruciating pain. As a result, the servant panicked. Aileen heard the commotion outside her chamber. Due to her curiosity and concern, the queen opened the door."W-What's wrong?" Aileen caressed her husband's cheek. Then, she asked two of the servants to help the king lay on
The go-getters' trill, the morning sun radiates looking through the mists, and birds do their wake-up routines, flying through the gentle breeze of wind. The king looked at the brilliant light, which covered the sky, loaded with magnificence, very much like the way he couldn't get his eyes off the woman who was in the middle of working back n' forward. All of a sudden, his trusted right hand appeared with piles of paper. and said, "Your excellency, the invit-"Viscount Severo failed to finish his statement as the king uttered, "Burn all those invitations.""As you order, your excellency. But, it's been forever since you visited this area. Are you perhaps observing something, or are you thinking of something?""Thinking about where my rationality was," the cold king replied."P-Pardon?" The perplexed Viscount almost dropped his jaw, hearing the composed king utter something nonsensical. Then left after seeing where the king's attention was, none other than watching the queen from a dis
Her hand fidgeted, and she wanted to bite her fingernails due to the fear his gaze bestowed on her. At the back of her mind, 'His piercing gaze... that face... It's Viishaun!' She shook her head, and this was not the time to be afraid. I need to explain things to him since 'Shaun' pooped out in the picture when he shouldn't."D*arn it!" He cursed at the wind. She convinced herself not to blink when the king raised his hand and threw a blanket at her. "W-What are you doing, my excellency?""My love, how's your hand?" He asked, caressing the bandage in the queen's wounded hand. She blinked twice and whispered, "A while ago, he was a lion ready to shut me with a sharp fang, but now he looks like an adorable kitty."“My love, let’s have dinner.” The king stood up and extended his hand, asking his wife to take them.Aileen sighed and held his hand. The servants looked relieved when the king and queen passed by them, holding hand by hand."I don't understand what you are trying to say, m
