Fifty-one: Unwanted Invitation

Amelia and Ryan walked out of the restaurant hand-in-hand, with smiles on their faces. They’d had a wonderful time and compared to the meals she was used to at the cafe opposite DCL, this place made heavenly meals and she’d confessed that to Ryan while they ate.

“I'm glad I brought you here,” he told her as they got into the car, ready to head back to work.

“Me too, it was lovely,” Amelia responded, smiling appreciatively.

“We should do this more often,”

“But you don’t have to,” she tried objecting but Ryan caught her hand in his, linking their fingers together and slowly caressing her palm with his thumb.

“We don’t have to but I want to Princess, I want to do everything for you,”

Amelia blushed hard, her cheeks turning a deep shade of pink and her heart hammering against her chest. Only Ryan could make her feel so much affection with just his words.

“Thank you,” she said breathily, but he never took his eyes off her as the car pulled into the road, heading towards their destination.
