Chapter One Hundred Twenty-one

She wiped the tears rolling down her cheeks. Her clear vision was beginning to find its way back to her. She heaved a deep sigh and cleared the strands of hair that were covering her face.

To hell with the job and the hate club. All that mattered was her sanity and she wasn't going to lose it to some revenge shit.

"I wish I never met you," she stated.

From her tone, Henry could read that she had stopped crying. Again, he didn't speak. It was the tenth time she was telling him that she wished she hadn't met him that day.

"You can go ahead and shut the fuck up. I don't care about your or the damn job. I'm quitting." she maintained.

Henry's eyes widened in surprise. He saw the venting part coming but never imagined that she was going to quit. He thought she'll be forced to stay no matter the odds because she needed the huge pay.

Maybe she was still drunk and he mistook the firmness in her voice earlier.
