After knowing a brief history about their kind, Fenris has been more gentle to me. I couldn't figure if it was connected to me knowing part of them or if he was just simply being caring. I shouldn't assume a thing though. As time passed by, we were getting more comfortable around each other.
Months have passed and Red Moon was almost approaching though we still have enough time to get ready.
"I got you there!" I laughed as I escaped myself from his muscular arms that imprisoned my neck a second ago.
He tried to hit me again, almost grabbing me but I manoeuvred around, dropping myself on the ground as I roll until my right knee leaned on the lawn as I positioned my buckles in front of my chest with my eyes shooting dagger at him.
"You're getting better huh!" His baritone voice was catching breath while his sweat was dripping on his firm chest. He was topless while I was in my sports bra and leggings.
I smirked, finally, I was learning how to get him tired in a fight. I often lose in our training with my energy getting drained.
I bet I was slowly getting the technique.
"You're getting tired now huh?" I stood as I tried to hit him continuously but his reflex was fast, so fast that my jab couldn't even land on his body. He was dodging every fist I threw at him until he grabbed my wrist. I tried to pull away but his grip tightened.
He playfully smirked deeply at my eyes. "Not that tired, Kira. Not that tired," he proudly said while I was looking up as he was so tall and I was just 5'4.
I took a deep breath, gathering all the force in my body. My chest pushed his body so hard that we dropped on the lawn, making him loosen his grip on me while I ended up being on top of him.
I was supposed to move and hit him but I got stuck, looking at his deeply, glittering eyes while my body was laying on his firm chest like I was leaning on a stone. I could hear his heart beating fast through our chests touching together, probably because he was really tired and so was I.
My heart jumped as he pushed me while he rotated our body until his heavy masculinity ended laying on top of me. He was holding both of my wrists so I couldn't move my hand while our chest was still touching each other.
The side of his lips rose as he stared at me more deeply while my body was getting warm, knowing that a good-looking guy was resting on top of me; our bodies felt like they were succumbing to each other with their heat, sending lightning on my nerves.
I puffed a breath when I failed to make any defence movements as he put more pressure and force on his body on top of me, making my chest freeze while his hands were gripping tight on my wrists. He got my knees and nerves all trembling.
His eyes glowed into blue as he smirked more teasingly. "You're getting better, Kira. Just try not to get distracted with my whole existence when we're fighting. Focus on defeating me not fantasizing my presence. Overall, you made good progress." He stood while shaking his head playfully.
I just glared at him, sticking my body on the lawn. He offered his hand. I stared at it for a moment before accepting it. Electricity travelled through me while he was helping me stand. I moved away quickly and removed the dirt on my shorts.
"I'm not fantasizing you, assuming werewolf," I defended myself.
"Okay." He raised his hands like surrendering. "No big deal, Kira." He chuckled. "And by the way, we need to work more on building your strengths. Can't you just skip your class tomorrow?"
"I can't. I'm a graduating student, master." The word master sounded sarcastic. "I can't let my studies go to waste."
He rolled his eyes, puffing his breath as he stroked his messy, sweating hair. Why does he look so hot when he's doing that? My lips thinned.
We ate our snacks after the tiring training. Vilka, on the other hand, was still caged in her cell. Sometimes her human instincts would go back, but her animalistic instincts were stronger, giving Fenris a hard decision to not free his sister while he was searching for a cure or answers for what was going on.
My journey so far, having to stay with Fenris all the time had been fun. It was something that made me excited about waking up in the morning and going back to the mansion after school. He gave me something to look forward to every day even if things were always uncertain especially now that I was soon to become a werewolf. I also experienced living like I was royalty. Fenris' lifestyle was for rich people, and I must say, I couldn't learn to hate it.
"Text me when you're class ended. I will fetch you, okay?" Fenris said while I was unbuckling my seatbelt. We just arrived at my university.
I nodded. "As usual," I whispered before hopping out of his car.
My whole day at the university went as usual. I took my lunch with friends; Nazarus and Beverly. They have been asking me about Vilka's absence for a month. I couldn't think of a reason so I was just changing the topic.
We were walking towards the parking lot as finally, our last subject ended. I was texting Fenris to pick me up when Nazarus wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"Texting your new driver again?" Nazarus glanced at my phone.
I moved it away from him while Beverly laughed from my other side. I poked my elbow on his waist but he just tightened his grip on my shoulders.
"I can drive you home, just like before. Don't text him anymore." Nazarus pinched my cheek playfully.
"Who is that guy anyway?" Beverly asked. "He has been driving you for months now. He's hot, I must say. Are you guys dating?"
I cough feeling like my own saliva punched my throat. I was thinking of an alibi when Beverly's phone rang.
"Shoot! I have to answer this. Don't wait for me anymore," she said before running away from us.
Nazarus and I looked at each other as we shrugged. We continued walking in the parking lot. I stopped at the shed where I usually wait for Fenris. Nazarus stood beside me.
"What?" I asked. "You have your car over there. Go home now."
"I'll drive you home."
I punched his shoulder. "No need, Naz. Fenris is on his way."
Nazarus was also my close friend except for Vilka. He had been with me since the beginning of our college days. He was a heartthrob in the university with his blonde messy looking hair and attractive dimples. Women often swoon over him but he didn't seem to care at all. He was used to fame and glamour.
"That guy, he has been stealing my role. I should be the one driving you home." His firm shoulder shrugged. "Just like the good old days." He poked my nose.
I just glared at him, not knowing what to say. He was always this sweet to me, but I was clearly aware that there was nothing special about his actions for me. He was just plain sweet and we weren't giving it meaning. I knew he would never like me. It was like he was heaven and I was just soil. His handsomeness and richness were way impossible to reach.
"Who's that Fenris in your life anyway?" his brows crossed while his arm was still on my shoulders.
"Just a friend, Naz." I checked my phone, but I got no reply from Fenris. I knew he was on his way through. I looked around, I wanted to avoid the hot seat. What's taking Fenris so long to arrive?
"A friend? Since when did you replace me huh?" He raised his right brow.
I laughed, shaking my head. "I didn't replace you, Naz. You're still my friend. Duh! It's just that..." My lips thinned. "Nevermind!"
"What is it? Don't tell me you're dating him?"
My eyes widened. I pinched his waist. "No! Never." I rolled my eyes. "He's a friend but he's short-tempered and arrogant. We're not a match."
"Not a match," he whispered sarcastically. "But you guys are friends. It's a bit ironic."
I gasped as I softly punched his chest. I couldn't find any words so I just laughed. I stopped when I saw his glimmering eyes suddenly turn serious. He was a playful man but sometimes he would become so serious that he could punch me anytime, though he never did that. His bad boy look was just intimidating when he was in his serious mode.
"Seriously, Kira." He tapped my shoulder. "You better be careful around him. I doubt you know him real well."
My brows crossed. "Why? Do you know him?"
"Kira." Fenris showed up in front of me.
My heart flinched when our eyes met. I slightly moved away from Naz while his arm remained on my shoulders.
"Ah... Fenris!" I awkwardly laughed. "What took you so long?" I asked before glancing at Naz. I didn't wanna introduce them to each other but seemed like I have no choice.
Fenris didn't answer me. He just stared at Nazarus while Naz was doing the same. They were glaring at each other with knives in their eyes.
My lips thinned, slowly removing Naz' arm on my shoulders.
After a while, Fenris grabbed my hand and pulled me away from Naz with our steps getting closer to his car.
"What's your relationship with that guy?" he asked after I sat on the shotgun seat while he was buckling his seatbelt.
"With Naz?" I buckled my belt. "He's a friend. Why did you pull me like that anyway? I was supposed to introduce you to him."
"A friend? I didn't know you have a guy friend." His brows crossed.
My lips parted. "It's not as if you should know all of my friends."
"I have the rights to," he groaned.
"That's unfair! I don't even know anyone connected to you except for Vilka."
He started his car's engine. "You'll soon meet my pack in Norway, remember?" He puffed a breath as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel. "Next time, you'll be having a guy friend, introduce him to me."
"That was what I was gonna do a while ago except you pulled me away."
His golden eyes turned into glowing blue while he was staring at the road as he started driving. He clenched his jaw while staying quiet. He didn't utter any more words so I was like kinda dumbfounded.
My lips thinned as I massaged my legs. Why is he acting mad? I rolled my eyes, not making a big deal out of it.
We arrived at the mansion still with his quietness soaking around me. I wasn't used to it. Most days, he would tease me or mock me after a long tiring school day. Now he was just quiet.
I felt the awkwardness drooling in my throat so I just went straight to my room. I took all my clothes off before going inside my own bathroom. The cold breeze of water in the shower started pouring on my hair down to my bare body.
"Kira."
"What the hell!" The glass sliding door opened from the shower, revealing Fenris. My hands covered my boobs but then he looked down at my thighs; I transferred my left hand to cover my womanhood while my right arm covered my average size boobs. "What the fuck?!" I exclaimed as I stepped backwards until my back felt the cold wall tiles.
He didn't seem bothered at all. He just stared into my eyes with his usual poker face. He turned off the shower, giving the four corners a complete silence. "Are you sure you're not in a relationship with Nazarus?" he asked with his face looking stiff, staring just only into my eyes. "The fuck?!" I checked my body, making sure the sensitive parts were all covered. "I'm pretty sure, Fenris. What the--- I'm taking a shower! Can we talk later?" He rolled his eyes. "Is he for real just a friend of yours or are you guys flirting? Do you like him?" "What? No. I don't like him." My brows crossed. "We're not even flirting." My heart was thumping so loud as I imagined how I look in front of him. I looked so awkward with my arms and hand covering myself while my knees were trembling. I puffed a breath. "Besides, I know he doesn't like me. He's not interested in me. He's a heartthrob, Fenris; famous and rich. I'm far from his ideal girl, that's for sure." "Are you fucking sure with that
My brows crossed until I saw the time on his gold wristwatch. It was almost ten a.m. I just shrugged at him before running down the long stairs again until I reached the garden.I stood in front of Fenris, sitting on the cemented chair beside the fountain. He looked at his phone as he shrugged. "Just on time; nearly good." My stomach felt like an earthquake. "I'm hungry. Can we eat first?" "No. That's the consequence of waking up late and not showing up right on time. You'll eat after the training." I glared at him and ended up pouting. He had been really cruel for the past few days; a lot stricter and more serious when it was about training. "What kind of werewolf are you?" I crossed my arms. "You're gonna allow your mate to die in hunger just because." My head remained high, looking up at him. Why didn't I grow taller? His height was making me look small. His thick right brow raised as he clenched his jaw. He was in his short-tempered, strict mood again. I managed to just stare
"Oh about that, you saw Gonzalo earlier?" Fenris wiped his lips with a tissue when his mouth looked oily; it added more lusciousness to his lips though. It looks good. Why am I even thinking about that? Damn Kira!"Ah... Gonzalo? Who's Gonzalo?"He checked his phone before looking back at my eyes. "He's the one you bumped into a while ago. You're supposed to meet him today but something personal occurred to him so he told me that he'll just gonna come back here maybe tomorrow or the next day.""I'm supposed to meet him?" I furrowed. "Why? What's gonna be his role in my transformation?"He looked away. The movement of his adam's apple showed how he was hesitating to say something. Is there something I need to know that he's not saying?"We'll talk about that tomorrow or some other time.""Come on! I'm curious. Say it to me now." I frowned. He slightly smiled even without his eyes moving; what a faked smile! "I'm still unsure about it so I'm gonna talk you through when I'm done thinking
The next thing I knew, I found myself laying on the lawn, naked. My head was still spinning when I looked around, seeing my dress shred on the floor. "Kira!" I could barely move I just lay there, staring at the night sky until Fenris' face showed up. He was looking so worried while my eyes were almost closing in heaviness. My breath would often be off and then come back for a minute, then off again. "What happened, Kira?" He asked caressing my hair out of my face. I felt like I was staring at the stars through his eyes. Despite my weakening body and sight, I saw how light and beautiful his eyes were. "Kira!" I exhaled a large amount of breath before I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him down to me. My naked body felt the warmth of his skin but I didn't seem to mind. Finally, I felt safe. I was so scared a while ago and all I could think of was his name because I knew for a fact that I needed him. I squeezed my eyes close letting the excess tears fall on my cheeks, s
"Seriously?" My lips parted at him.He just nodded. I looked down on my lap as I played with my fingers. "Is that how you despise the idea of marrying me?" I thought we already established a good bond even just for the convenience thing. I couldn't blame him after all He never liked me. It was normal for him to desire to escape the responsibility he never wished for. I don't know why my heart is aching though, damnit. "I don't despise you, Kira." "You don't have to pretend. I see it." My lips thinned as I nodded. "I feel it." "Kira, it's not that..." He gasped. "I just thought if you could have a choice, you'd prefer someone else than me. You always pinpoint how short-tempered I am and Gonzalo, Gonzalo is more patient than me, more understanding, and more friendly." "As if it isn't obvious." I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I know. That's what everyone says about us, anyway he offered us a proposal and I found it unfair if I wouldn't even let you have the chance to choose." I looked
My mouth was frozen in seconds until I blew a hard laugh. "I thought you have humour. Why didn't you get my joke?""Too bad, you're not joking." He rolled his eyes. My lips thinned. Is it that obvious? I shrugged, acting unbothered but I caught myself floating on cloud nine while I stare at his glittering gold eyes with his messy hair that he often stroked with his fingers. His oversized black tank top made him extra good, showing his perfectly masculine arms."See? You're distracted again." He smirked.I blink multiple times. I pinched my waist, gathering the right senses I should obtain right now. I was about to go on a battle; I shouldn't be floating like I was some kind of a butterfly."Can we just start? Shall we?" I puffed a breath."Sure, but first I'll give you the credits for arriving on time today. It's your first time not being late. Congrats, Kira." He offered his hand.I glared at it but then on I wanted to feel his big palm so I shook my hand with him until he gripped t
A few days passed and luckily, I was still seeing the sunshine and moonlight. Fenris didn't kill me but I could feel that he was still somehow considering my suggestion. Nonetheless, our routine has been the same for almost two weeks and my body was drained from our continuous training every single freaking day plus I didn't fail to attend my classes and he didn't fail to pick me up and drive me home from time to time. "Is Nazarus still sticking his ass around you?" He asked while his eyes were on the road, driving. His one elbow was resting on the aisle of the window while his other hand was on the steering wheel, looking so chill. "Not his ass," I answered sarcastically. Ever since the day that I punched him in the face and asked him to just kill me, I've been avoiding him. But since he was my driver when going to university, I have no escape. "I'm serious, Kira. Is he still hanging around with you?" His hand on the steering wheel tightened its grip. I leaned my face at the wind
My brows crossed with his question. All my life I had never felt something different in my senses. Weird feelings just started occurring to me when Vilka bit me; just like a while ago when my head twitched its veins and I saw bright lightening 'til my imagination went to Fenris and Nazarus' past. It was a wild guess that turned out to be factual. "Yes, I'm just an ordinary human 'till I met you." I was positively sure. "You're welcome," he sarcastically said. "But how come your guess was so accurate? Are you hiding something from me?" I chuckled in a sarcastic tone. "What am I gonna hide?" I shook my head. "Maybe I'm just good at guessing. I have read books about werewolves so my imagination played with me and I won." I stuck my tongue out, teasingly. "You're gonna let me win in our training; that's the deal." He rolled his eyes and shook his head before he continued eating. His brows were still kinda crossed like he was thinking deeply about something like he was analysing a math
