I slowly looked at him when he didn't utter a word for a long second. Our eyes met and his brown pupils were glittering in playfulness like he wanted to laugh but he just smiled and shook his head in disbelief.
"Kira, I'm preparing you for the day of your transformation and that includes showing you the history of our kind and what may be ahead of us. We're not gonna make out. I'm not even planning to have sex with you anytime soon."
"Then great!" I looked away, feeling my burning cheeks. "You should have said it straight to the point though! Instead of giving me false hope." I rolled my eyes at his masculine body. "Why are you even naked anyway?" I puffed a breath, releasing the giant shame inside my chest.
"So you're hoping to have sex with me?"
"No! Of course not!" I crossed my arms. "I don't even know how sex works for werewolves."
The side of his lips rose. "You'll soon know."
"Yeah, whatever! Show me what you're gonna show me and can you please put your clothes on. It's disturbing."
"I told you to get used to my body. You'll be seeing this for the rest of your werewolf existence, besides, I am your mate so deal with it." He grabbed a bowl on his bedside table and showed me what was inside.
The bowl was filled with tiny stones, almost like a stone candy.
"You're gonna show me a bowl of chocolates?" My brows furrowed.
"It's not chocolates. It's tiny gems from the ancient Alphas, the first-ever existing werewolves in our universe made by the Moon Goddess. This gem will bring you into a whole new world where you'll see the history of werewolves; how it started and how our ancestors fought for our kind to survive in this ever-changing world. Our history cannot be written for safety precautions that's why it has been preserved in these tiny gems."
"Where did these tiny gems come from?" I held one piece of gem and examined it with my furious brows.
He showed me the small birthmark on his wrist. "These gems were from werewolves' bodies. Once we die, our family will have to get this tiny little gem inside us and our birthmark will determine where it is located. In my case, my gem is intact in my wrist."
I looked around my body, I have no birthmarks.
"A birthmark will appear on your body after your first transformation. For now, I want you to be aware of our pride; our history."
"And how will I witness that through this?" I raised a tiny gem in front of his face.
"You have to swallow that gem, Kira."
"What?"
He raised his right brow. I zipped my mouth.
"You have to intake that tiny gem. Don't worry, that won't kill you. It's just like a drug that humans intake when they're sick." He shrugged. "You'll feel some unlikely feelings though. You'll feel dizzy. Your body will stay relaxed like you're just sleeping while you're mind will be fully awake. It's a strange feeling but tolerable."
"Are you sure I'm not gonna die with this?" I still have pending dreams to achieve. I don't wanna die.
He shook his head before tapping his bed. "Lay on my bed. Your body should be relaxed in the process."
"Is it really necessary that you're naked along the process?" I looked at his chest and my eyes stopped at his v-line. I lay on the bed, holding one, tiny gem.
"I need to transform into a werewolf in order to talk to you while you're half awake and half sleeping. You still don't have the telepathic ability so I have to adjust or else you wouldn't be able to hear my voice using mind."
"What else should I do?" I asked after relaxing my body on his soft bed. I could smell his manly scent even more; it was relaxing but my chest was half nervous, thumping like a suspenseful drum sound.
"Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and swallow the gem, Kira."
I followed his instructions and as the gem travelled through my throat, my vision started getting blurry until I saw colourful shapes and sizes flying around my sight. I couldn't even feel my body. I was like floating in the air.
'Kira, do you hear me?'
"Yes," I muttered, even my lips were feeling numb.
'What do you feel? Can you see anything?'
"I feel dizzy, Fenris. Are you sure this is safe?"
'Or course it's safe.' He sounded annoyed again. 'What are you seeing right now?'
"Nothing, just lights. It's making me dizzy for real."
He gasped. 'Just relax. Seconds later, you will feel like you're in the woods and you will see an ancient house with a man peacefully living with his wife and two daughters.'
I was still feeling numb when I found myself looking into so many trees. Fenris was right, I was in the woods, and then seconds later, I was inside the ancient house.
I watched a family happily singing together until I heard shouting outside their mansion. A black shadow appeared on the father's hands as he locked the doors using wind. I had the capability to look at their window, where I saw a group of people approaching their house. The people were still far but they were many.
"What's going on?" I asked Fenris.
'What you're seeing right now is the people approaching the family of Darkesta. They are planning to kill the family. They are eager and angry.'
I watched the two daughters panicking while their mom was calming them. The father was walking around the house like he was thinking deeply about what to do. His eyes glowed into blue. My heart thumped.
'Darkesta is one of the first family of werewolves, Kira; a werewolf blessed with magic. They have the ability to control the shadows; the darkness.'
The father made his family hide from the underground. The mother was convincing him to join them but he insisted. He was eager to face the people who wanted them dead.
"I thought no people have ever discovered that werewolves are real?"
'Indeed, Kira. Their attackers were not only humans, they were werewolves without powers, only strengths.'
The father went out of the house. My chest started thumping strong. My loud heartbeat was the only sense I could feel, the rest was so numb.
'They were the same kind, then why were they attacking the Darkesta?'
As the people were approaching, the father just stood in the middle outside of their house. He spread his arms as he looked up then darkness started forming around. The people rushing transformed into werewolves as the shadow of darkness were growing larger and larger around the father.
'Because they're not the same. The Darkesta have power. They can control the shadows while the ordinary werewolves don't have any. They found the family dangerous. A threat to their small community.'
My heart felt like it was being pulled by a heavy stone while I watched the father getting surrounded by shadows of darkness like a poisonous smoke and as the werewolves approached nearer to him, the smoke has reached them and every werewolf was summoned by darkness like a domino effect, transforming their werewolves form into a black creepy-looking dog as the shadows got larger and larger, making the woods turned into ashes.
"What happened? What's going on?" I wasn't moving but I found myself catching my breath.
'You just watched the Darkesta turn everything into darkness.'
"He killed all of their attackers just like that?"
'Only, he didn't kill them. He accidentally summoned them into darkness, making them wild, evil dogs that would follow his commands.'
"What happened after that? Do they still exist?"
After everything was summoned in darkness, I couldn't see a thing again. My vision was back into colourful, dizzy, bright lights.
'They hide after that. No one knows why or what they have been planning. The thing is, werewolves have been preparing for their possible attack. We are preparing ourselves for the worst as we are aware of how evil they can be. Three powerful alphas that have been blessed by the power of light almost destroyed them. Unfortunately, they failed to avoid the strong summoning of darkness.'
"So this is you, telling me how my life has been in danger now that I'm becoming a werewolf?"
'This is me, showing you that there's more to your life as a werewolf that you will be uncovering. Hold tight cause it's gonna be a crazy adventure and like I always say, expect the unexpected; prepare for the worst, and hmm... your training with me will start tomorrow.'
I swallowed deeply after seeing some backpacks and winter clothes that they had prepared for us. My mind was roaring everywhere, and I couldn't even sink in the information Guardian Leo was saying to me.My chest was thudding so loud, and all I could think of was I wasn't ready. I didn't expect everything to happen this quick. We rode horses to travel the cold land, and I couldn't stop glancing at Fenris every time I would think of backing up. I sighed deeply and tried gathering courage from I didn't even know where I could actually get one. Perhaps, the look of Fenris reassuring me was enough. We arrived at the strange mountain ranges, and from there, we teleported to the icy plateau on top of the hill. My hands were trembling under my gloves. Fenris held me while we were looking around the place, examining the surroundings."I don't understand," I muttered. "I can't see anything but icy mountains. Where could be the location of Darkesta's territory?"I hugged myself when the strong
What happened that night was still hunting me to this day — it had been two weeks and up until now, we were still thinking of the purpose of why Darkesta's little dogs suddenly attacked us."Claude is dead."When Fenris brought me that news, I was stunned. I thought I would be happy to hear those words but then again, I remembered he was once my friend. Even though it wasn't really for him, it was real for me and Lilien."They decided to kill him after he almost successfully transformed himself into his wolf form," he added.I sipped on my cup of coffee while my heart was still feeling unsafe. Darkesta was not only the devil, he was intelligent and whatever he was plotting against us could be the real end of our kind. I was just so frightened by that thought."What about Vilka? Do you believe her?" I asked before sipping on my coffee again.Vilka explained to us why she suddenly disappeared from the mansion a minute after our soldiers had traced foot tracks of Dark Summoners. She said
My jaw tightened as my claws gripped tighter on the ground. I stepped back, lowering my body while gazing at the three creepy humanoid wolves. They were standing on their two legs, and it made them look more monstrous. I prepared myself for a possible attack."Calm down!" The humanoid wolves were almost laughing in my ears. I didn't know they could talk to us through the mind link. "You seem to be too threatened to us. Don't make it so obvious, I suggest." The humanoid wolf in the middle kept blubbering, sounding so boastful.I glared at them deeper as I hissed. Fenris was looking much more eager. I could even hear his blood boiling so hard.Fenris howled. "What do you want from us?!" He also spoke through mind-link. The humanoid wolf on the left side chuckled like a playful yet annoying child. "You know what we want. "We will never surrender to your greedy master, you asshole!" Fenris fired back while he was scratching his pointed claws on the ground with his sharp teeth showing.
My heart thundered as Fenris' eyes and mine met. "Stay here," he commanded."What? No—" He got out of the room without letting me finish my words. I gulped before I rushed to follow him downstairs. Noises were coming from outside the mansion and when we finally exited the house, I saw some soldiers talking and discussing some things. In contrast, others were spread around the huge house, they were anticipating something, and my heart was thudding continuously for what could be it."What the hell is going on?!" Fenris exclaimed, and finally, he caught the soldiers' attention."We saw tracks of Dark Summoners leading to this place—""I know, but did you see them? How the hell did they get here without anyone sensing them?"Strange. Even I didn't sense the unwelcomed scent of humanoid wolves. "Alpha Fenris, I checked Vilka in her room, but she isn't there." A maid approached him."What?! What does she have to do with any of this? Are you sure she didn't sleep in her own house?"The mai
I swallowed deeply, convincing myself they were nothing but friends just like me and Nazarus — come on!"Yes, my cousins are regaining their strengths, thankfully."I cleared my throat before I stood properly and composed myself. My elbows hit some leaves, and I immediately noticed how quickly their eyes turned into me. "Oh, Kira!" Atasha chuckled awkwardly. "My cousins would want to give you and your mother this." She handed me two necklaces with a fang pendant."Really?" I still couldn't figure out how to interact with her. I never wanted to be fake or plastic or whatever they call it. "Yes, they've been planning to come here, but they are still regenerating their strengths — maybe next week they could thank you personally.""Oh, that's nice." I grabbed the necklaces from her soft hand. "Tell your cousins not to worry, and we appreciate their gifts and their gratitude." I glanced at Fenris, and he slightly smiled at me. My lips just thinned.I wanted to ask what they were talking
We arrived in the woods right on time while the Sun was about to rise. Good thing, the soldiers arrived earlier than us. They seemed responsible and dedicated to their tasks. We stayed near the river for a couple of hours. Fenris had been discussing something with the soldiers. They were plotting a plan while I was on the lookout for the busy group. Surprisingly, no Dark Summoners attempted to attack us. I was quite anticipating the action now, but perhaps it really was better for them not to attack or anything. The damage they could cause was too much, for sure.Since we saw no sign of attack, Fenris and I decided to go back to the mansion. He instructed the leader to inform us once anything unfortunate occurred. While we walked our way back to our house, the soldiers stayed in the woods as it was one of their duty — to guard and observe the forest. The next day was a really bad day for me. I work up without Fenris on my side. Since my body was so heavy and even my eyes, I didn't no
