The Mitchell House

"Lalani Ann Mitchell" I hear my father yell from downstairs waking me up out a deep sleep "Ahh shit" I think to myself the school must have called them when they realized I wasn't at school. Now what am I supposed to do how am I going to explain to them why I left. "LALANI ANN MITCHELL" my father yells louder making me jump. I hurriedly grabbed my slippers and run out of the room to head downstairs to deal with my father's anger.

I make it to the bottom of the steps and see my mother and father standing there with very upset looks on their face and I can feel their emotions coming off of them like a wave which makes me instantly weak to my knees making them buckle and nearly fall. Once they saw that their emotions changed while mother runs up to me grabbing me and walking me to the couch. My father following closely behind I guess I wasn't as recharged as I thought I was after coming home from school and taking a nap that reminds me, I haven't eaten today that would explain a lot.

"Well, Lalani would you like to explain why you weren't in school today" my father pulls me out of my thoughts by asking.

"Well, I umm I went to school then there was a fight, and I went to see with who while I blocked most of the other kid's emotions it was fine until the future Alpha made eye contact with me and then his third in command said something mean about me so when everyone turned to me the emotions got too strong and I could no longer block them out I started to lose control of my powers and before I knew it I was in the woods and there was dark clouds forming then there was thunder then lightning stuck the school and then I umm I umm I saw grandma" I answer them truthfully.

"You saw grandma" My mother asks me with a look of shock on her face I just sat there nodding my head at her.

"Well, what did she say" my father asks with an equally shocked look on his face. Well, she told me that over the generation that the women in our family were blessed with the moon goddesses' gift until it skipped mom then when I was born, I was blessed with multiple gifts which has never happened before and that I need to learn to control them because there is something big brewing that our gifts are meant to be used to protect all humans and shifters she says we have the blood of the moon goddess running through our veins and that's why I look a lot like her. She says not to be afraid to let people know who I am and that if I ever need to talk that I could just call to her, and she'd be here.

I look up to their faces and see that their jaws had dropped and them both staring at me and there looking back and forth towards each other giving very concerned looks to each other. Mom, Dad are you okay I ask and the just both shook their heads and looked back to me.

"Lalani, we need to talk to you about something important and we know your definitely not going to like the outcome. my father says and my mother starts crying.

What is it and before I could say anything else there was knock at the door I watch as my father gives my mother a knowing look and gets up off the couch to get the door. I watch in disbelief as I notice it's the Alpha the Luna and their son Angelino. I get up to bow to them when their son walks up to me and gives me a very charming smile and tells me it's okay and that I should just sit down. I do as I say not to disobey an Alpha command even though he didn't use his Alpha tone.

They all walk in my father shaking the Alphas hand and the Luna giving my mom a hung. I had no idea that they knew each other on a personal level. As I look at them with a bewilder look, I just had to ask. Wait I interrupt them how well do you know each other I question my mom. My mom was about to answer but the Luna beat her to it.

"Well, you see my child your mother and I go way back we have been best friends for years it all started it the 3rd grade when I was being bullied and your mom stood up for me and socked my husband your Alphas third in command it the mouth for calling me names she lets out a small chuckle and that's how our friendship started we hung out every day all day until I found that I was mated to the Alpha and had to move into the Alphas house we have remained friends but due to being the Luna we could not hang out as often as we would like but your mother was there when I had my son and then 2 weeks later I was there when you were born I was the first person to hold and your mother was she first person to hold Angelino before our mates ever got to hold either of you and also as a matter of fact I'm the one who actually named you".

Mine and Angelino's jaw dropped at the exact same time as we just sat there and stared at our parents as they were all chucking with one another, and why haven't we ever been told any of this before I questioned them.

"Well, we didn't see the need to at the time but now back to more important matters" the Alpha said Dan may I speak to you and your wife privately and they all got up and walked to another room. Leaving Angelino and I alone I couldn't help but stare for a second with how good he looked in his dark blue jean and white crew neck shirt.

"You like what you see" Angelino says pulling me out of my thoughts making me divert my eyes as fast as I could from him. He stands up walking closer to me and whispering in my ear "it's okay beautiful you can have it if you want it" he says in a raspy voice sending shivers down my spine. Before I could respond the Alpha and Luna and my parents came back into the room. My parents had the biggest smile on their faces and the only emotion I could pull from them is excitement.

"Lalani, I know you are reading us right now, but we seriously need you to focus". Dad says I looked at him surprised at what he just said. Dad, I say and give him the side eye motioning to our guest. "It's okay Lalani they know I had to tell them" My father says. I gasp but why would you do that dad we discussed I didn't want anyone besides us to know. "I had to sweetheart so we could protect you" he says with a sad look on his face.

Protect me? Protect me from what I yell in udder disbelief I can now feel my power are starting to get out of control due to my emotions and the wind pick up outside the clouds starting to get dark again the thunder clapping and then the lightning striking the tree out front catching it on fire then the rain starts to come down thankfully putting out the fire.

"Lalani, you need to calm down" my mother say before another lightning bolt strikes again right out front "Lalani it's okay just calm down we are going to make sure nothing happens to you we promise" the Luna says. After realizing nothing they say is going to calm my father steps up and grabs my hands and looks deep in my eyes. "Lalani, he whispers breath and that's when I felt strong arms wrap around me in a hung instantly pulling me from my thoughts and calming me as I relax into his hold.

Losing consciousness for a second I come to Angelino staring down at me with the biggest smile on his face and then whispers are you okay beautiful. When I realize he is the one holding me I jump up and look at all the shocked faces in the room. The rain had put out the fire and the clouds disappeared.

"Are you alright Lalani" the Alpha asks mhmm is all I managed to get out then I realized Angelino still had his hands around my waist, but I didn't protest or move for some strange reason I felt relax and calm in his arms.

"Okay so can we continue" my father asks, and I just nod my head to continue.

"So, like I was saying I had to tell them in order to protect you see the rogue attacks have been getting worse and we managed to keep one of them alive for questioning and upon questioning we discovered that they are coming for you Lalani" my father says.

"That is why we are here Lalani" Luna Armani says "yeah I just figured out her name and she been my mom's best friend for years and even named me and the Alpha's name is Drew go figure after all these years I find out their names".

"We would like you to come stay with us until we can find a permanent solution to better protect you" Alpha Drew mentions and right after I heard that my heart dropped into my stomach, I started feeling dizzy and like I was going to vomit then one thing after another and I lost consciousness again.
