The Alphas Gifted Mate

Lalani Mitchell is a 17-year-old empathic witch/clairvoyant gamma she wolf who lives on the pack lands of the Blue Crescent Moon pack. Her father is the lead warrior for the packs Alpha and Luna. Her mother generally stays home to care for her and her 13-year-old twin sisters Olivia and Olive. Nobody knows about her powers besides she parents and her little sisters. She attends school but generally keeps to herself due to the emotions that an empath can pick up which automatically leads her to being bullied. Some call her a freak while others call her weird when in all reality nobody truly knows the truth but that all changes on her 18th birthday when she finally shifts and gets her wolf.

“Lalani wake up you're going to be late” I hear my mother call over mindlink “ugh another sleepless night thanks to these dang wolf spirits” I grumble to myself while rolling out of bed they never seem to know when to stop always reaching out to me to give a message to their family members which I don’t do seeming how no one knows my little secret. Today is the first day back to school and let me just tell you I’m not excited about it I’m a junior this year and somehow wish I could be done with school already.

Another day to another crappy year of being bullied I say to myself. You see I’m an empathetic witch/clairvoyant and prefer to stay to myself an introvert if you must say. My mother says my gifts are a blessing from the moon goddess herself, but I say they are more like a curse excluding me from being a normal teen that hangs with her friends goes to parties or even getting a boyfriend, but no I’m stuck in a former shell of myself. Being an empath comes with a lot of challenges one of which is I can pick up on the emotions of other others positive or negative which physically and emotionally drains me. Which makes it extremely hard for me to be around people hence why I have zero friends and hate going to school and being around a large amount of people but having magic with being an empath comes with a lot of risks especially when I’m at school a lot of the times when I can’t keep my emotions in check, I can’t control my magic. I can do a lot of things some of which my mother and father know nothing about they know that I can control the weather, but they don’t know is that I can control one’s mind and make them do things. I just recently found that one out this last year of school when one of my bullies the Alpha’s third in command was calling me a fat ugly pig which in response, I made him hit his head into a locker. I was shocked when it happened and didn’t even think it was me who did it but during the summer, I’ve learned a lot about my magic.

Honestly, I’m not sure what came over me I just happened to get so angry with his comment. Knowing damn well I am far from ugly I mean I’m no barbie doll like these other girls at the school but I’m not far from average with my height of 4’9 slim figure light complexion with my white, blonde hair and my eyes that are as blue as the aura of the blue full moon that happens every few months.

Anyways enough about that side of me let’s talk about clairvoyant me. That has to be the worst part about me. All day everyday I’m always being bothered rather it be a fallen soldiers or rogue that had been killed on our land there is always someone there. Sometimes there is only one but other times there is more than one for instance last night there was at least 3 that I could make out in my sleep begging me to give a message to the kids that I attend school with which I will not be doing again introvert here.

I will regret it later when they follow me to school, but I am dead set on holding my ground “hah see what I did there”. Anyways better continue getting ready for this dreadful day.

“LALANI” I hear my mother yelling from the bottom steps of our staircase. “I’m coming mom I’m almost done” I holler back. I grab my back and rush out my room and downstairs as fast as I could. I see my mother in the kitchen finishing up breakfast for us to eat before school. As I take my seat next to my sister’s.

“Where’s dad” I ask?

“Pack business he got called out early this morning” she responds.

“Oh” is all I say my dad is the lead warrior for the current Alpha and Luna, so he works directly for them. “Yes, you heard me right he works directly for the Alpha and Luna” you’d think with him being so close with the Alpha and Luna I’d be treated better, but nooo my father says I need to learn to handle things on my own and will not bring them into it. Sometimes I get so angry with him I just control his mind and make him fall asleep early, so I don’t have to deal with him.

“Lalani Mitchell it’s time to go get your things and get in the car”. My mother says.

Dang it I did it again being so caught up in my mind that I hardly ate anything and zoned out. I’m instantly going to regret this later as I hear my stomach rumble. Food is very important especially for me being an empath it helps me keep my energy up when I start to get hit with the wave of emotions once I step foot into that awful place.

“Lalani”

“Ugh I’m coming mom” as I grab my book bag and head out the door”.

The car ride is fairly short maybe a 10 15-minute drive the high school is separate from the junior high where my sisters go. They are in 7th grade. So naturally my mom drops me off first. “Love you bye guys” I yell too my mom and sisters as they drive away. I noticed something weird right away as I walk towards the main doors and then I felt it like a wave of water crashing into me. All the emotions. Then I hear the commotion there’s a fight between a werewolf and werebear. “Yes, you heard me right again” this school isn’t just for werewolves it’s for all supernatural shifters. Werewolves being the dominant species then werebears then werecats. The fight is between a werewolf and a werebear I walk closer trying to block all the emotions from everyone to get a closer look as I get closer, I immediately know who the fight is between. Andre Mascota the werebear and none other than our future Alpha Angelino Biscotti, but what are they fighting over.

All of a sudden, he just stops sniffs the air then suddenly turns and makes eye contact with me. I freeze for a minute while I scan his body, I’ve never noticed how tall he was at least 6’5 his rock hard 6 pack buff muscle arms and chest his light caramel skins chiseled jawbone and his eyes oh my his eyes are the greenest eyes I’ve ever seen. We pause and stare into each other’s eyes I try to get a feel for his emotions, but I can’t pick them up.

Our eyes are lock in on each other when his third in command says “what the fuck is the freak staring at", and everyone turns to me I break my eyes away from Angelino and take off running straight out of the school. I can now feel everyone emotions and it mostly consists of disgust right before I make it all the out of the school, I hear Angelino let out a growl and then I feel his emotions and it is anger.

I ran out the school all the way into the woods. Dark clouds started to form, and I started to panic more. No no no this can’t happened right now I knew coming to school was a bad idea then I heard the rumble of thunder. Shit this is going to get bad if I can’t get my emotions under control. I heard another rumble then BOOM I looked back and seen lightening hit the school. “Oh My God Fuck” I say to myself this is bad very bad. I sat down and pulled my legs to my chest trying to calm myself down. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder I panicked and looked up. “It’s okay my child” grandma I say I haven’t seen my grandma since I was little then she passed away before I could spend more time with her. “Yes, my child it is me I came down to visit”. I look up at her. Her long white hair barely touching the ground with her big beautiful blue eyes looking back at me. I was always told I looked so much like her cause I didn’t resemble my mom and dad at all they both have dark hair and brown eyes.

“My child you need to relax”.

“How am I supposed to do that grandma”. I look up at her with tears in my eyes.

“Breathe in and out and count to 10”.

I do as she says and inhale through my nose and exhale from my mouth while I count to 10, I did that a couple times before I was finally relaxing enough for the sky to turn back to normal.

“Good my child now I need to tell you something and you need to listen very closely”. I nod my head yes in response. She sits next to me and grabs my hand.

“Lalani listen to me a long time ago the moon goddess gifted the woman in this family until it skipped your mother. What you have your gifts are special none of the woman have ever been gifted with all three abilities at once. Over the generations our abilities were used to protect humans and shifters of all kinds. Some say that we share the blood of the moon goddess and that’s why we were all born with white, blonde hair and blue eyes to resemble to moon goddess herself. You need to learn to control it keep it in check there is something bad brewing and your abilities will be the only thing that will be able to stop it and save the human race along with the shifters. Don’t be afraid to let people know who you are. You are destined for great things and soon enough you’ll have everyone on your side just give it time”.

I look up at her completely shocked and not knowing what to say.

“Just remember Lalani if you ever need to talk or have questions call on me and I’ll be there”.

Then just like that I felt a kiss on the cheek, and she was gone. I sat in the woods for the remainder of the school day and when I noticed everyone leaving, I bolted home running straight up to my room and locking the door.

I must have fallen asleep due to all the excitement and feeling all the emotions that had simply drained me when I was awoken by my father yelling my name.

“Lalani Ann Mitchell get your ass down here now”.

“Uhh ohh he used my full name I am definitely in some deep shit” I say to myself.
