Chapter 27

After Joshua drove Clarice to her office and left, Clarice was surprised by Tristan's presence for the umpteenth time. He was not at all tired of seeing Clarice when earlier at the apartment, Clarice could not see him at all because of Joshua.

They stared for a long time until Tristan finally spoke. "Are you going to skip work today?" Tristan asked.

"Don't be crazy, if Joshua finds out, I'll be the one in trouble!" said Clarice in an indifferent tone.

"Please, Clarice. At least give me time so you can choose between me and Joshua. I also promise, every time we meet, he won't know."

His plea would benefit none of them at all because Clarice would choose Joshua anyway. Not because she loved him, but because Joshua was the one who could do many things in her life, whether it was bad or not. Furthermore, she accepted him because she wanted to make amends with Joel.
