“We are all lawyers but we all have a difference!” Fiza, Izhar’s youngest sister said, widening her eyes. “Bro is a criminal defence lawyer, Haya didi is a tax lawyer and I’m a family lawyer, which means the highest earning one,” she completed with a proud tone, fluttering her eyelashes by the end. Haya, the middle one, chuckled, “Stop with that! It’s horrible!” That made everybody chuckle. Irene did that, while palming her mouth which was filled with a gulp of sharbat. Fiza rolled her eyes, sipping on her drink. “But who is the inspiration of all of you?” Irene asked with pure interest, getting Kevin’s quick attention. He looked at her as he sat beside her, palming her thigh. Rukh, who was holding her grandson Isaac in her lap, answered Irene with a kind smile, “Their father.” She had that pride in her tone for her husband who gave her a side glance which was full of love and admiration. “You’re also a lawyer?” Irene’s eyes slightly widened as she asked Iqrar about that. “Yes,
“All these?” Hazel asked, holding the bundle of dresses in her arms and looking down at them because they were more than ten. Some of them were in Zoya’s arms, because it was too difficult for Hazel to lift those gowns by herself, so Zoya was there to help her. Their size was also bigger than normal clothes. “Yes, dear. We all just found them beautiful. Now see which one you like best.” Heer gave her a small smile after she delivered those words. And it took almost an hour for them to select those gowns. Abigail was telling the truth when she told the reason for an hour. They all went out shopping at eleven in the morning and now it was early afternoon. “Okay,” said Hazel as she went into the spacious closet. Zoya followed her behind. The door opened and they walked inside. Zoya put the dresses in a safe place before she went outside, leaving Hazel behind. She first ran her eyes around the large room. There was a long marble slab beside her and half of the wall had splayed a mirr
The door of her room opened and that grabbed everybody’s attention. The bride slightly moved her head in that direction and her eyes widened when she looked at the person. The same expression flashed on his face as he drank in her attire. She was looking beautiful. “Dad,” she murmured and walked to him. He also reduced the distance between them by rolling the wheels of his chair. David came behind them to assist him. The ladies in that room along with the make-up artists and hair stylists walked out of the room, giving them some privacy. “I was just thinking about you,” she confessed, bending slightly to hold his weak hands. His wrists were a lot thinner and his hands were shivering before they fell in her hold. “Me too,” he smiled. “Dav,” he said and David bent slightly to help him in standing up. Adam could stand for a few minutes but walking was hard for him. As he stood up, he spread his arms and engulfed his daughter in a loving embrace. “I was also thinking about how you wou
He sighed relaxedly once he entered her room. He could come back home only after dropping off his family members at the hotel. Marcus was too busy with his wife and kids until Rebecaa blessed Hazel with all her heart, so he did not want him to handle the work of dropping them off at the hotel. He did that by himself and there, Adam insisted on staying with his grandparents. Though he wanted Adam to come with him, Heer was ready to keep Adam with themselves so Christian did not bother them much. He drove back. He inhaled the sweet scent of hers in the room which was strongly dominating the entire closed room. He looked around and found the room decorated with lit-up candles and rose petals. He remembered when Kevin gave him a smirk on his way back home. So it was easy to catch that the room was decorated by him and Irene. He shook his head and walked ahead to sit on the bed. The rose petals spread on the white sheet were crushed under his weight for which he did not care at all. He
“Mama, I wanna come with Grandma and Grandpa!” Adam insisted while jumping on his spot. His little hand was holding his mother’s fingers as he told her that. His chirpy voice gained everybody’s attention there and Heer could not help but kiss him on his chubby cheek by crouching next to him. Her blue wide pants stretched a bit around her knees as she crouched lightly. She held Adam’s chubby cheeks and kissed them one by one while Hazel and the others watched them lovingly. “As you wish, baby,” said Hazel, patting his cheek which now carried a lipstick mark. Heer chuckled and proceeded to wipe away the mark when Christian came in between. He made the arrangements and now got the time to come back because they were leaving for Rajasthan today. His whole family was there at the airport. They all were excited to visit the city where they owned a palace now and there the ceremony was being held for Christian and Hazel. “Are they all set?” He asked, snaking his arm behind his wife’s wai
“I had thought that Jodhpur would be very hot. But here at the moment, there is a relief of a little coolness,” said Irene as she looked around herself, walking ahead with her luggage with Kevin. “It’s cloudy. Did it rain here?” He squinted his already small eyes as he looked up at the sky. The brightness still did not allow him to look at it properly and he groaned. He looked down and rubbed his eyes, finding moisture accumulating that spilt out through the corners. Irene chuckled, “Chinese eyes,” she mumbled under her breath. “Yes, it rained a while ago. You survived the wrath of the heat.” Izhar gave him the answer as he also walked behind them with their luggage. “And how do you know, Mister?” Zoya came to pinch his cheek, wiggling her brows. “I informed him,” said Adnan who stood for them in a waiting lane. They came to pick them up. They met each other while Christian could not help but try to hide his distaste towards Adnan. He still did not like his presence. Just who in
“Chris!” She called his name as she opened the door while carefully holding the baby girl in her arms. She closed the door behind her and suddenly silence engulfed her as the members downstairs were having an important conversation. Christian’s attention was already dragged by her soft call as he was watching her move to him with the baby. The girl was wrapped up in a soft quilt but woke up as her big brown eyes watched everything. “You didn’t meet our little angel, right?” She said, sitting in front of him but folding her right leg on the bed. The white silky mattress dipped underneath her, and the light yellow cotton chikankari designed fabric of her plazo shone brightly under the warm glow of their room. The small glasses at the border of her dress enhanced its gleam. He put away his laptop and gave his full attention to his wife and the baby in her arms. “Adnan’s daughter?” He asked, looking down at the girl who looked back at him with her big brown eyes. “Yeah,” she said, ho
Hazel’s closed eyes were greeted by the sweet morning sunlight coming through the glass of the huge window set in the wall next to their bed. Those red coloured curtains hanging from the wall of the window were not completely closed. They have opened ajar, letting the pleasant sunlight peek into the spacious royal room. Her eyelids flickered and her eyebrows corrugated a bit. Soon the melodious chirping of the sparrows outside met her ears and she opened her eyes slowly but they immediately fell shut when they were attacked by the sunlight. She sighed and raised her hand to save her eyes by shielding them from her palm. She yawned a bit and turned to look at Christian beside her. She smiled instantly when she found him next to him. He was still asleep. His eyes were closed, and his thick eyelashes allured her. Like always in middays, he had a frown on his face but it was not present now. It was always absent when he was with Adam or her or he was sleeping next to her — his peace.
