JAXON

"They won't," I said, and Clarissa looked up at me, a confused look on her face.

"What do you mean by that? Are they just making empty threats?" She asked, and I nodded.

"They want to keep you in check. You will get a warning, but nothing intense. You might not know this, but when you first came to the academy, the director initially had plans to somehow kick you out," I explained.

She frowned. "Why would he change his mind?"

"Callum has control over him. I believe there's a reason why he wants you to stay at the academy."

Her eyes widened in realization. "That's right. He was the one who gave me an invitation letter. He once said he wanted me by his side as his Luna. Maybe he's after my power as the lunar heir."

It made a lot of sense.

"I'll go with you to the academy," I said, grabbing my jacket off my chair.

Clarissa straightened, holding a hand to my chest with a crease in her brows.

"Are you sure about this?"

I nodded.

Her eyes suddenly widened, and she reached over

JAXON The cold bit through my coat, but it was nothing compared to the ice tightening in my chest.I trailed Clarissa down the hidden tunnel under the academy’s training ground, the echo of our footsteps swallowed by silence. The air was thick, it reeked of poison. I was worried about Clarissa, but she didn’t seem to be affected by the suffocating atmosphere. She claimed that she was following Stefan’s scent. And even though that made me feel weird, all I could do was follow her lead.My lungs burned with every breath, blood pounding deafeningly in my ears. This place had to be a whole different kind of hell. But there was something about it that maximized my emotions. The fear and unease that had lingered were growing rapidly, and I couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened earlier with Clarissa. I’d almost gotten influenced by the power of the eclipse wolf. It felt like I was on a terrifying countdown.“We have to hurry. I hope he’s still alive,” Clarissa said, and I had

DANTE I stared at the grey skies, watching as the first snow of the year made its descent. It was ironic how the first snow was supposed to be a sign of new beginnings and joy. Instead, it was always the coldest, loneliest day of my life. The day I'd lost my parents to the cruel hands of death. And it had been my fault. I wanted to believe that my bad luck had ended then. But I was still paranoid, fearing that I would infect the people around me with my own rot."What are you doing out here, Dante? Aren't you cold?" I smiled at the sound of my brother's voice."I'm fine."It was a blatant lie. My fingers were freezing so badly that they had gone numb, and I might have been shaking in my boots. But I needed to feel this pain. I needed to remind myself of the fact that I was never completely clean.Dorian moved over to place a hand on my shoulder."You don't need to do this anymore, you know?" He said, and I stiffened, turning to look at him.He flashed me a gentle smile.Disbel

CLARISSA I woke up with a shudder. The sitting room was dim, shadows creeping across the walls. The chills were already setting in. Winter was just around the corner after all.My body was curled sideways on the velvet couch, a throw blanket tangled around my legs. My face was damp. I blinked... then touched my cheek. It was wet.I'd been crying, I realized.I didn't remember the dream... only the overwhelming ache it left behind and the grief that stole my breath away. My hand curled instinctively over my swollen belly, and the baby stirred, and I felt a little kick beneath my palm. I gulped, unease settling in my core.Even now, I couldn't pretend that I wasn't deeply bothered by Lilith's prophecy. But then, she'd mentioned a couple of prophecies, and none of them had ever really come true.Even though I tried to comfort myself with that, her words continued to ring in my head, a chill travelling down my spine. My baby kicked again, as though he could sense the growing turbulen

JAXON I stared at the wall, unease curling in my guts. Ever since Clarissa left the room, I couldn't shake off the feeling of foreboding that had me in its clutches. A part of me wanted to go after her. But judging from the way she'd slipped out of bed, she didn't need my interference. Did she have a terrible nightmare? I couldn't help but wonder. My thoughts came to a grinding halt when she stepped into the room. Her shoulders were slumped, and her eyes were distant, like she'd just heard the worst news. I sat up right away, worried. Clarissa clutched at her baby bump, her face pale.I could smell iron on her.It took me a few seconds to realize that she'd gone down to the basement to see Lilith. One thing was certain, though. She hadn't gone there to torture her but to seek answers. If I'd known this, I would have warned her not to believe Lilith's twisted words.I rose to my feet and moved to her side, pulling her into my arms as close as the baby bump could allow. I could

CALLUM Curled up in the corner of my room, I drifted in and out of consciousness. I don't know how long I spent huddled there, suffering from an intense sensation of agony. I'd underestimated Jaxon, and now I was paying the price for it. When I could finally breathe again, enough to be aware of my surroundings, I looked around the room, surprised to find myself in my childhood bedroom."When did I get here?" I rasped, sitting up with a groan. I must've subconsciously led the shadows to this place. But that was strange, I'd never considered this place to be safe, or did I? There was no use trying to teleport back to my apartment. I was too weak to make it happen.Biting my lower lip, I stumbled to my feet, doubling over as I was suddenly blindsided by the pain on my side. Swallowing hard, I stripped off my bloody clothes and limped into the bathroom. Each movement reopened my healing wounds."You could have avoided this," the hollow king said in my head, and I squeezed my eye

CLARISSA "Jaxon," I whimpered, fisting the sheets, tears pricking the corners of my eyes."Come for me," he snarled, sucking my clit between his lips and flicking his tongue with ruthless skill. "Now."I shattered. Again. My cry tore through the air as pleasure ripped through me, harder this time, more intense. My thighs tried to close around his head, but he held me down and kept sucking, licking me through every wave until I was sobbing his name.Only then did he lift his head, his lips glistening. And his eyes? They were wild, dark and unhinged. He pressed a kiss just above my mound, his voice a reverent whisper."I'll never get enough of this."Then he looked up at me with a wicked smirk. "But I'm still hard, baby. And I'm not done claiming what's mine."I barely had time to catch my breath before Jaxon flipped me onto my side and then guided me gently onto my hands and knees. His touch was careful with my belly. But everything else about him? Unhinged and possessive."Let m

Warning: Extra Spice AheadCLARISSA "I need to feel something that isn't pain. I need you. Not the chaos. Not the war. Just... us," I whispered, searching his eyes. The past few days had been nothing but hectic, and I'd come so close to losing him too many times.Emotions flickered across his face. I saw his love, his hunger and his restraint. His fingers curled around my waist, then slid to my back, pulling me in gently, careful not to press too hard against my belly. Still, I felt the heat of him and the tremble in his breath."I've missed you," he whispered, brushing a kiss across my temple. "Every part of you."He leaned down and kissed me like I was sacred. His lips were warm and slow against mine, coaxing rather than claiming. And gods, I melted. My fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, and when he deepened the kiss, I let him. I opened to him, letting him taste my need, my ache, and my love.He guided me backwards towards the bed, one hand splayed protectively

CLARISSA Relief crashed into me, hard. My warrior was here, alive, walking? But how did he find me? And more importantly, he wasn't supposed to be moving about. The air crackled, thick with tension, as Jaxon stepped from the shadows like a god returned from the dead.My heart slammed against my ribs.He was so pale, he could have easily passed for a vampire. There were dark circles under his eyes, but he didn't look like he was in pain. He looked as though he was prepared for retribution. His eyes blazed with fire. The kind I'd never seen before."Let her go," he said , his voice laced with terrifying menace.Callum's lips curled into a lazy smirk. "And here I thought you were too sick to crawl out of bed.""I'll crawl through hell to get to her," Jaxon snapped. With a snarl, he lunged. The room exploded into chaos.Shadows leapt from the floor, striking like vipers. Jaxon rolled beneath them and struck back with a slice of his claws that left deep marks on Callum's face. The pe

CLARISSA I bloody well knew that the truce meeting was a sham. Still, I sneaked out of the house without telling Dorian or anyone else, even after he'd made me promise that I wouldn't go alone. The air inside reeked of old magic and dried blood. And sitting at the polished stone table were the remaining board members.Seven.Only seven now. Because I'd torn the other two to pieces with my bare hands. They didn't stand or smile to welcome me. They just watched me like I was already a threat.Good.Let them. The air pulsed with tension as I stepped into the council chamber. Every crack in the ancient marble walls hummed with runes and curses meant to subdue me. It didn’t matter. My blood didn't care for their rules. I wasn't here to negotiate."I'm here," I announced in a steely voice. "You said you would release Nina if I showed up."They exchanged glances. Cowards, all of them. Cloaked in ceremonial robes, still trying to act like kings when they were nothing more than ugly vul
