Chapter Six.

(Noah's POV)

“I have to go." she says, barely above a whisper. Her eyes still glued to her phone.

"Wait what?" I ask confused.

"I'm sorry, but I have to leave."

Every part of me wants to stop her but I don’t move.

I can't.

Not because I’m okay with her leaving. Hell no.

But because the weight of her words… they feel like déjà vu.

It’s always her leaving. Running.

And I’m always left here. Just a man with open hands and too many questions.

She shifts, reaching for the door handle. She seems to be in a hurry cause her movements are hasty.

But that's not how I see it. From my perspective, she's leaving like she had planned this the moment she got in. Like she just came in here to wreck the little calm I’d built over the years and disappear again.

I feel those walls start to crack. I begin to FEEL. It all began when she left.

I lost sense of feel.

When she left.

But not this time.

Before she can open the door, I reach out and grab her arm.

Not roughly.

But firmly.

“Elina,” I mutter.
