“ If it is going to mean me burning down everything in my way just so I can have you, I will do so, Eleanor, I have come to love you, and I am never letting you go” his breath clashed against my skin, goosebumps on my skin. I took in a mouthful of breath because I knew that there was no way I was going to escape him. ********** Being sold off as a breeder, the last thing Eleanor had expected was getting entangled with a man way older than her. My heart flipped as I stumbled backward, trying to get in what I had just heard, the realization that I was all alone and that this was truly happening dawn on me, my heart thumped against my breast cage as I sank to the ground, tears cascading down my cheek before yelling out, "Father no" I pleaded, my voice broke but I knew that I had to do this." You cannot do this to me! I am your heir and I deserve some sort of explanation, you cannot toss me away like I mean nothing to you, you cannot sell me off like I am trash to you," I rebuffed what he had just said, my hands fidgeting,"My beta will take you to the Lycan king, your place is with him and you are never to come back here" he announced with a icy tone, before walking out with with his back turned to me, tears ran down my cheek when two hands held me up, yelling and kicking," Let go of me, my father wouldn't do this to me, I am his heir and I deserve better so please…"I fought so hard to be let go and when they did, I stood outside, with hands clutching the edge of my gown tightly while biting into my lips until I could taste the metallic taste of blood in my mouth,My father's beta walked past me, with a stern look on his face, "It's time to leave,” I flipped my head around, stealing one last lingering glance at the house that had been my home since childhood. A small entourage stood by, waiting to bid me farewell.Today was a day I wished had never come. To be sold as a war bounty by one's pack was a fate no one would ever desire, yet I had been chosen. Why me? I'd asked countless times, but no one had provided an answer, not even my parents, who held the positions of Alpha and Luna in our pack. With a sigh, I dug my nails into my palms and waved my hand to the small crowd behind me. My eyes met my mother's on the balcony. She stood up there, a hand clasped over her mouth, withdrawing immediately after our eyes had met. A pang of hurt struck me. Why wouldn't she say goodbye?I stepped into the waiting car, a tear tracing down my cheek as it pulled away. The familiar face of the pack I had grown to love became distant.“We should be arriving soon. You mustn't disappoint the Lycan king. No tantrums, and you must obey his commands without objection, whatever he tells you to do is what you are going to do” the driver, my father's Beta, instructed“Why?” I blurted out.“Why should I submit to a man I don't know, nor do I want? Of everybody, why does it have to be him? The Lycan king?"I have heard tales about how ruthless he was, how he kills werewolves just because he pleases and now, I was being taken to the same man we all detested. He remained silent, and the silence lingered. Then, with an icy tone, he spoke again.“You'll understand when we arrive.”My heart quickened as he drove into a magnificent palace which was painted gray and hidden by the thick woods which were beside it. Guards stood outside fully armed, and a shiver ran down my spine. I was forced to face reality. The door slammed shut, and I glanced at my father's Beta, who exited the car with a stern expression. “Come with me,” he directed. My steps faltered as we made our way inside the vast hall which was devoid of human presence until a pretty lady sashayed in, swaying her waist to the side, her steps were elegant, and her skin glowed when it came in contact with the soft lighting in the room.“We demand an audience with the Lycan king.”She stared at me, her eyes a contemptuous glare as if I were beneath her, unfit to stand in her presence. “You may leave. I will handle this.”I watched silently as his body curved into a bow before stepping out, “Beta…” I whimpered, placing a hand on his wrist as he made a way out when he glared at me,“Stay put and don't tarnish the pack's name, remember you have a duty to play”I stumbled, feeling alone, and lost when she spoke up, her voice cold and domineering, filled with so much hate,“You must be the breeder, destined to be discarded once you bear my child.”My eyes widened in disbelief. Breeder? Her child? No one had prepared me for that. I was supposed to be the Queen, not some breeder.“I am no one's breeder” I answered,Her hand reached for my face, nails digging into my skin, not paying attention to what I had said initially.“Fair skin, full lips, wide hips, perfect eyes. You may have his body, but you'll never have his heart. Andre is mine and mine alone”I yanked her hands off my face," I never said I wanted to have anyone, let me go” Her eyes widened in shock and I flinched when she raised a hand, intending to strike me across the face when a voice stopped her,“Phoebe, what are you doing?”She scoffed, turning on her heels, “I think she needs to be put in her place, she doesn't seem to buy the idea of being a breeder”“I am…" I tried explaining when he flicked his head around, gesturing at the maids,“Take her away and prepare her for his Majesty's bed.”I was dragged from the room, helpless, unable to process what had just transpired, no one had said anything to me about being a breeder, what was going on here? Why wasn't I able to ask any questions?Everything felt just like a dream to me, one I wished I could wake up from, but when I was yanked into the bathtub, maids tending to my skin delicately, I knew it wasn't. This was a life I had to live now.I was forced into a thin linen gown, a shawl covering my face as I was led down a vast hall, my senses tingled and heightened, and unlike her usual self, Kira was absent today. She wasn't here to talk me through all that I was going through.Led to a bed, I felt the weight of impending doom.“His Majesty will arrive soon. Obey his every command,” a voice cautioned before departing.Alone, I let my hands wander on the bed, my heart racing. The moment had arrived. I had to surrender myself to a man I knew nothing about. The door creaked open. A musky scent filled my senses, and I tensed when a hand brushed my shawl aside, Fists clenched, I shut my eyes tightly, unwilling to face the unknown.“Look at me!” his command echoed, his voice deep and husky, making ripples in my stomach. My eyes met his, hazel ones radiating warmth. A spark of hope ignited within, and I knew nothing could go wrong with having him by my side,“Mate!” Kira giggled excitedly, and I felt everything plunge downward at the next word he uttered out of his lips,“You must be the breeder, destined to bear my child.”I shook my head, I have heard stories about one's mates and I have also had different ways I wanted my first time to be, “I am not a breeder; I am your mate!”I insisted,He chuckled, dismissing my protest. “A breeder you are and a breeder you shall be.” He strutted down, his lips in a curve as he ran a finger underneath my lower lips, his eyes darkened, as his gaze penetrated mine and I was lost in the abyss."Tell me you want me" his hands caressed my boobs, same time heat pooled in-between my legs. , I refused to say a word as I muffled my groan. "Say it and I will take you to an height you never knew existed"I gulped in, before nooding at him.Tears tinting the side of my eyes when he slipped in, so firm and hard making my toes curl. Our hips rocked as I tried to meet his pace and when I felt hot liquid trickling in between my legs, I halted.“Dress up and leave. The maids at the door will tend to you, you aren't allowed to come in here unless I call for you” he ordered, I fumbled around, picking up the bits of clothing that lay on the cold tiles. My heart ached, shattered by how cold he had sounded so suddenly. This was my first time and I knew that he knew it, the blood stain on the bedspread must have given it away, but still, he haven't even cared. As I stumbled away, his words to the maid who had pushed the door open pierced through my very soul just like tiny shards of needles.“Get me, Phoebe, she should be ready to warm my bed this night”Phoebe had a finger on her lips as she sauntered about, waiting for her father to come. It was taking longer than she had expected, maybe he was finally able to get Andre to change his mind, a change of mind was everything she needed. It would be perfect, it will show that he loves her still and that would be just enough to get Eleanor to leave. She was done with finding the one who will give birth to an heir to Andre, she will do everything just to make sure she was the one. Her eyes tore at the door when it finally creaked, announcing her father before he had even stepped in. Her heart dipped at the look on his face, the one that told her it had been futile but she threw that off, she wasn't going to be stupid, she had to be positive as being negative had never made anything better. Elder Darren plopped to the couch, deep in thought. His hands wrapped around his hair, not paying even the least attention to Phoebe. Where has this gone wrong? It had all been perfect, the pl
All Elder Darren could think about as he walked away was how exactly he was going to get Eleanor away from Andre and also tell Phoebe what he had seen, how exactly was he going to place it? What would he tell her? He was at a loss and didn't want to break her heart any further. He wasn't such a nice person, he knew, he had done a lot of things which he didn't want to put out there, things he wasn't proud of, but even at that, this wasn't one of them, he wouldn't want anyone hurting his daughter, he could as a way of making sure that she toughen up but this wasn't it. Not Andre, he was the last person he had expected would do this, not when they were so close to their goals, when he could taste victory at the fingertip and it was snatched away from him. Slipping into the car where his chauffeur waited, he had his phone in his hands, biting on his lips before he gave directions. “To the blue raiders pack” he demanded to which his chauffeur inquired:“That is werewolves county, we
What did you just say? Pheobe questioned as she stood to her feet, her chest heaved as she hoped what she had just been told was a lie. Her hands clenched before she turned around, taking a proper look at the spy she had placed in Andre's company, the one who was always going to come back to tell her exactly what decision had been made and she was hoping that she just heard wrong because there was no way he will do such. She begged him, pleaded and did everything for him to take her to his company but he had bluntly refused on all occasions even citing the fact that all he needed was a queen who would sit beside him, acting all pretty and now, he had given her a whole company. A whole fucking company. She shook her head, letting out little peal of laughter which chorused out of her lips before she swept her hands across the table, dragging in countless air. “Tell me I heard wrong, did Andre really do that? He gave Elenaor that?’’The spy who had walked in, contemplated on what was
Andre’s POVMaybe we had been expecting and hoping for things to change so soon when I hadn't even done a thing to change the way I was being seen by her parents. I swallowed, letting out rasp breaths when Eleanor leaned against my arms, her fingers digging into my arms as she stood close to me. Was I having regrets? Yes, I was and it was heart wrenching. Time had gone and I knew taking her away from her parents had caused a hole in her heart that would be difficult for them to fill. She had been everything to them, and they had been forced to let her go. By the very same person who had walked in here acting nice so suddenly. “ They will surely come around” she gave me a thin smile, grasping onto my arms. Her face melted into one of those smiles which had me always wanting her. “Why aren't you attacking me? Telling me that I am the reason why they are acting this way towards you?”She had wanted to walk away from me, didn't like me. I had treated her like trash and it seemed tha
Eleanor's POV “ No, I am not going with you. Why do I have to leave with you to your office?” I whispered to Andre who wasn't having it any way else. His hands were wrapped around my waist, eyes clashed through mine as he whispered. “ I don't want anyone else around you. I mean, come on, I won't be able to breathe properly if I see Marrion around you. What if he just walks in while I am away and whisk you off?” He questioned. His brows were puckered, and he was dressed just right, in an ash suit that would always blow off my mind at all times, but I wasn't going to do this. “ Fine, let's get this done with. I will only go with you on one term” His eyes lit up as he nodded at me, waiting for me to say what I had in mind. “ You will let me go home first” “ Home?” He wondered before gulping in when he got it. “ I will go with you, I mean… I should talk to your parents. I had been mean initially, but I should make amends. It is time that I do so”My heart swelled at the realization
Phoebe footsteps echoed down the hall as she pivoted down to her room, her heart slamming so hard again it's ribcage. “ Ahhhhhh” she yelled out frustrated as her hands moved over the top of the table, flipping everything off it. Her chest rose and fell slightly at the same time a hand ran through her hair. “ I will kill you, Eleanor. I will make sure that you pay for everything, for taking Andre away from me, I am going to make you shed tears for the rest of your life” she swore before pushing herself against the wall, needles jabbed her heart. Elder Darren, who had been awakened by the sound of crashing items, stood up abruptly as he made his way to the source of the noise he had heard. His heart splitted at the thought that it was his daughter but he hoped that wasn't true. She wasn't supposed to be crying and she wasn't supposed to be here. The palace was where she was supposed to be, beside Andre. Pushing the door open, he was startled to see her leaning against the wall, stre
